Dickey’s Barbecue Pit

I really had a craving for barbecue so I stopped at a food truck on 22^nd that I had seen for a couple of weeks and gave them a try. The ribs were really DRY! I threw them out and went up the road to Dickeys. I decided to give their ribs a try and I have now found the best ribs in Tucson! I came in on a Tuesday which I guess is rib special day which cost me less than $ 10. I will definitely be back!

I stopped here with my family excited to try a new bbq joint. The neighborhood is horrible, but eh sometimes you get the best food at places off the beaten path. We walked in it was pretty small and a few customers were having lunch. No one greeted us when we walked in. As we figured out where to place our order we stood in front of an employee who didn’t acknowledge us. I assume he worked there but he wasn’t in uniform. Finally someone else asked us for our order. We got our food sat down and ate. The food was good, pulled pork and Turkey however the brisket was DRY! After we finished up eating we gathered ourselves and headed for the door. No thank you for coming or please come back again nothing… If I owned this business I would start with a hole new staff because they are the face of your company and your sales would probably increase 20% just by having a smiling face behind the counter and greeting your customer!

The food is a 2 and the service a pissed off 1. Alaina M. must be a shill. The size of a sandwich is ²⁄₃ the size of competitors priced similarly. The Mac and cheese is mush and cheese, been steeping at least 2 days – should be served with a straw. The beans must be outta a Van de Camp can, fries are passable, and the onion «tanglers» were really good. Their sauce is really not bad. Good thing they serve plenty cuz the meat is so dried out.
The Sat. I stepped in, I didn’t pay enuf attention when the guy was telling some lady that there was no carbonation, and she should opt for iced tea. The same guy handed me a to go cup which I then filled up with bubble-​free brown sugar water. Things can break, but what’s broken is when you know it and can’t be bothered to put up a sign or put together some appropriate verbal skills. I called the # on the cup and got a mngr. not on-​site whose effort sucked. Things happen, at least offer to take a name and let me have a free drink or refund should I decide to give it a 2^nd go. Bad food + could-​care-​less service= You’ll be under in less than a year.
Suck it, but you win, you have my $ 22.

This place is fantastic! From the service to the food; mostly the food! They have fun daily specials each day of the week, which is amazing. We ended up getting the brisket sandwich with two sides and a drink for $ 9.99. The meat was so juicy and tender, add their delicious BBQ sauce and it was heaven in my mouth. We tried 4 different sides; the mac and cheese which was quite tasty just a little salty, the creamy slaw which you could never go wrong with, fried okra, YUM! and the baked potato casserole which was the favorite by far.
Overall the food was delicious and amazing, finishing the night with a complimentary vanilla ice cream cone and walking out with the big yellow take-​home cup; this was a 5-​star experience and I CANNOT WAIT to go back! Especially when they get their beer taps officially up and pouring!

First I like to think John the manager and his staff, I brought a full slab of ribs today for my birthday and this love that I received was hard and burnt, but they replaced the slab without any hesitation, and I do appreciate that, but with that being said, I have cooked ribs for over 40 Years, and I know good ribs when I taste them, and I have to say the ribs I had was not very good at all, they had no seasoning, the membrane was left on the back of the meat, and it was somewhat rubbery, and the baked beans was not very tasty, after paying $ 49 for my meal, I was really unhappy with what I ate, I’m not sure how the rest of the menu taste, but those two items was not very good, I wish I could find good barbecue like we have at home at shields BBQ, even though I appreciate the good service and friendly staff, I will probably not visit with them again.
