I was about to sign up for LA fitness to use their pool but discovered this community gem instead! For $ 2 a swim I’m assured now that my tax dollars are going toward at least one awesome thing. There are very limited places to swim in the area and I would definitely recommend this over signing up for LA fitness if you’re just looking for a pool. The lap pool has four lanes, is clean, and warmed year round, and I believe 25 yards. Most of the time I go I haven’t needed to share a lane. There is a lifeguard there at all times. It’s right adjacent to the kid pool which has a pretty little waterfall/fountain thing. They supply kickboards as well. The locker room is spacious with plenty of showers and changing rooms. It’s pretty clean for a community pool(and non-inferior to LA fitness’ pool in terms of cleanliness actually), though I wouldn’t walk around without slippers. Bring a lock! The open swim hours are pretty convenient(check the website), but they are closed on Sunday.

Soak, Float, or Swim: remedy for pain I’m a strong believer that water cures all — back problems, strained muscles, even bad moods — all you have to do is Soak, Float, or Swim. Edith Ball seems to be the ideal place to do so here in T-town. Here’s why: 1] Protection against colds and burns. The year-round outdoor pool is heated to a reasonable 82 degrees during colder months. It also resides under a snazzy octagonal cover, which offers protection against the scalding AZ sun(the sun that never ceases to burn regardless of the gobs of sunscreen applied). And then there’s the indoor therapy pool which is heated to a cozy 92 degrees — great for recovering injuries or a recreational float. 2] Location. It’s next-door neighbors with Reid Park, so if you’re feeling up for it, you could release some stress by pounding the pavement(in the safest way possible) around Reid’s three mile loop, and then head on over to the pool. It’s also just a smidge over a 5k from downtown. 3] Bang for buck. It costs $ 2 a visit or $ 100 for a year-long pass, which includes entrance to all of the city’s public pools. I’d say that’s a bargain, considering this facility alone has two heated pools(one with a fun water-spraying system for the kiddos or adultos to frolic through) and a fairly clean locker room with warm-water showers. I only wish there wasn’t so much junk floating around in the outdoor pool. All in all, it’s still one of my favorite places to get my therapy on. Soak, Float, or Swim, peeps. Know Before You Go(pulling a Corey D): Lap lanes fill up quickly and staff does not let anyone into the locker room until precisely the moment the pool is scheduled to open.
