I picked up Fire on the Mountain’s Green Chile Vinaigrette salad dressing and the Green Chile Dip Mix at the St. Philip’s Farmer’s Market yesterday. He has samples in the cooler, so ask! This dip packs a punch!!! So, if you do not like spicy food, you may want to pass… You mix half a cup of mayo, half a cup of sour cream, stir in the bled of spices and viola you have a party in your mouth. It is so different than any other dip on the market. It would really be great for a party, and I’m sure guests will inquire about it. I served it with pita chips, but I think it would be great with tortilla chips, potato chips, pretzels, or even some locally sourced veggies. The salad dressing has a sweet flavor with green chile overtones. I think it would be great to marinate some meat in it for the grill. They also sell a green chile stew and seasoning mix. I would love to get the seasoning mix… I think it is similar to the dip mix, but he added more chile to the dip mix. The web page suggests to shake the seasoning mix over popcorn, I don’t even like popcorn, but after adding this, I might be inclined to give the kernels another go. This is truly a local product from a family owned and operated business… they even use the kitchen at Mercado San Agustin, which I think is way cool.
