(Original post 5÷28÷2013 — at 4 stars) I have lived here almost a year. The property overall is really nice. The apartments are spacious one bedroom, there are a few different floor plans. They have all the basic kitchen appliances(garbage disposal, dish washer, electric range and oven and refrigerator) and a stack washer/dryer. All apartments are total electric so the electric bill is very reasonable. Management pays water. All apartments have«heat pumps» so the heat in the winter and the AC in the summer is very adequate — filters do need to be changed but if a maintenance request is turned in — you might get it changed in a few months!!! UPDATE(7÷06÷13 at 1 star): This is a very nice property full of beauty and has a beautiful Property Manager but that is where the beauty ends. If you don’t mind being manipulated and looked at as just a $$$.$$ this is the place for you. Back earlier this year and in particular in May, prior to my lease agreement renewal and well within the time frame of a 30 day written notice from me to «vacate», I was told by the local Property Manager and leasing agent that I could be placed on the list to be moved to a ground floor apartment(currently on 2nd floor and despite the elevator availability, I am at one end of the building from the elevator and my parking is at half building distance from the elevator. I have a bad knee and it is difficult walking as well as COPD issues, I did get a letter from my Primary Physician saying that a ground floor apartment would be in my best interest health wise!) In May, I was told I needed to fill out the qualification application once again to be approved and for my rent rate, which I did. I was approved and asked to sign the new lease(my old lease was good thru June 30th, 2013. New lease would be for 12 months beginning July 1st, 2013.) In May, I was offered a ground floor apartment in building 9(102) near the little doggie park but the rate would be $ 25 more than I would be paying on the 2nd floor. I took a look at it and decided the location, etc. was very good, parking right in front of the apartment BUT it was a smaller apartment and had NOSTORAGE closet which I have with the 2nd floor apartment. I chose not to take the offer based on fact that I was told they still would keep me on the move list. On June 24th, we had a neighbor pass away in the building next to where I am. He was in a ground floor, local Property Manager asked if I wanted to take that one and she could offer it at the same rate as I would be paying on my new lease beginning in July for the 2nd floor apartment. I asked about time frame, she said they couldn’t have possession and start getting the unit ready until July 1st and it usually takes 5 days for them to go through the unit and do painting if needed, etc. On June 25th, I told the Property Manager I would take the unit. She told me I would have to pay for both units until I was moved and my current unit passed«inspection», I had no problem with that. I went ahead and went on line to Tucson Electric and set up «turn on» in new apartment in my name for the 5th of July and turn off in my old unit on the 9th allowing enough time to move over the weekend and clean the old unit. I also did change of address on line with USPS and did changes on my magazine subscription address’ effective the 5th. On the morning of the 5th, I received a call from the Property Manager and asked if I was already packed for the move, I told her not completely but it would not take much time to get ready. She said the Management company«Broker and COO»(located in Scottsdale) called and said the«lawyer» to her they don’t have to move me so the«deal» is off. I was fuming but kept my cool — in effect they«tricked me into signing a NEWONEYEARLEASE» based on the premise I would be eventually moved, I had nothing in writing that I was to be moved other than verbal between local management and myself and no witness with me every time this was discussed. Needless to say, I am still not pleased with the way I have been treated and will be out of here at least by the end of this current one year«screw you» lease! I am 70 years old, soon to be 71 and do not need to be treated in this manner. My final recommendation to anyone wanting to move into Ghost Rance Lodge Apartments is to be very weary of anything you are TOLD by local management because the legal beagles and COO in the wicked world of the NORTH have the final say!!!
