Yeah more like a convince store with very limited selection of liquor in plastic bottles. Plus it smells terrible in there. More like a 7/11,

I have been going Gus’s Liquor Store on Grant Rd. in midtown Tucson for over 3 years now. The owner, Gus, is an interesting man. Originally from Germany, he opened this liquor store that bears his name in the mid 1990s. A lot of the regular customers know him by name, and he’s always friendly and helpful. In addition to the standard selection of beer, wine and liquor you would expect, this store also stocks quite a few«hard to find» wines and liquors. I was surprised that they stock the Blue Nun brand of Riesling wine that I love and haven’t seen anywhere else in years. Gus’s also stocks a variety of snack foods, soft drinks, tobacco products, specialty memorabilia, water pipes and other products. Many customers buy non-liquor items, and this store functions much like a neighborhood convenience store. Gus’s Liquor Store is conveniently located on the southeast corner of East Grant. Rd. and North Columbus Blvd. They are opened daily till 10:00PM.

I’ll admit that it’s been a while since I’ve been here. Doesn’t make a lot of sense when I live a few hundred miles away now. However, when I was close, I always had good service and they had not only a great selection but good prices. The drive through was a novelty that I thought was fun. I mean getting a burger or burrito at a drive through is old hat for most of us. It’s a change getting your favorite adult beverages and a pack of smokes there though. If you’re in the area and need some items to kick back for the evening or to stock up for a rocking party, this is a very likely spot to get what you need. ****
