Kelly’s Grooming Salon

I took my puppy in to this salon the other day… Although apprehensive, being that my puppy is 6 months old and has only been groomed one other time, I found the owner to be very knowledable, understanding and very helpful. Being new to the area she made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog with her for the day.
The other thing I liked about this groomer is they let the dogs socialize together… they don’t lock them in a cage for the day and forget about them… I like that a lot! Not only did she get to play with other animals, she got specific attention all day while she was there.
As far as the grooming itself… I am very, very pleased with the way my shihtzu looks and feels and smells. I am going back regularly and also using them as a pet babysitting service. It makes me feel good to leave her with people who really care about animals and give them the same attention I would give my dog.

I can’t even tell you about the actual grooming services because I walked out right away. The lady was on the phone while checking me in and she was not very friendly. She asked me to pass my dog over to her. I tried to explain to her that my dog is not good with strangers and might try to nip at her. She told me to calm down and hand him over to her backwards. My dog is seven years old and has been to the groomer and vet several times in Chicago. Groomers and Vets have always been very understanding and would take him on a leash and get to know him while I left. I am appalled of the service at this grooming salon and will definitely not go back.
