Don’t be fooled by the way the outside looks… Our new favorite Mexican restaurant! Fish tacos are amazing as are the special burritos. Pico and salsa rock too.

I haven’t lived in Tucson since 2012, but every time I make a visit I always budget my time for a La Botana stop for the bean dip and a veggie chimichanga. Also, Soyrizo.

I’m really not sure why this place has 4 stars. The only great thing about this place is the chips and salsa. EVERYTHING costs extra, beans and rice with your meal, sour cream. Food is subpar nothing great and the service don’t even get me started. They’re great at first but for such a small place it’s crazy to think no one check on you during your visit and I had to ask our waiter for the check after waiting for 20 minutes. I wouldn’t come back.

I love the chimis here. They are filling, not overly greasy and always enough for two meals…(unless you have not eaten all day :)) The staff a polite and the atmosphere is not overly noisy so it can be a place to go with or without family.

Haven’t eaten yet, but it’s freezing in here. The staff and customers are bundled up. Owner, turn the heat on please!

Bogo margaritas won my heart. Sunday you’ll find me here :) I like the outside patio and the misters in the summer. Location is spot on and they have tvs in good spots to check out the games.

This is now my go-to spot when I’m craving shrimp tacos, which they call«tacos Gobernador al Ajillo.» Their fish tacos are also very good as well, and I like that they’re grilled and garnished with spices/cabbage/pico instead of deep fried/battered. My fiancée will say that all their meaty options are delicious as well! There’s a pretty good-sized back patio that is dog-friendly They serve margaritas and beers. Happy Hour is from 2−5pm and 8pm to closing on Mondays-Fridays

I love this place. The food is reasonably priced and the buy one get one free margaritas on the weekend makes my life better. When they are busy, service can suffer — but that’s the same with any place. I also like that they have heat lamps or misters outside for a more pleasant experience. I do not think I can count on two hands how many times I’ve gone here to eat with friends. It’s always a great time, highly recommended for a weekend treat!

Love this place! Their prices for their lunch specials are great. I have been going here for over 4 years. I have taken friends and colleagues who visit from out of tow, no one has left disappointed. I love the cilantro rice, especially because I cannot eat tomato. I do have to say my friends and I miss the«Ay Dios mío muy bueno» sign ;-) Other than that we hope to visit more happy hours while we live here. Can’t get enough of their micheladas.

Yum! We went yesterday(Monday), and it wasn’t super quiet, but the staff were super friendly and the food was really good! We had a Living Social, and I really enjoyed it – bought another LS deal! We had the queso fundido(yummy!), and I had the tacos with peppers stuffed with cheese and shrimp, wrapped in bacon, in them. Wow, spicy but wow good. Husband had plain old beef tacos with cheese added. He enjoyed these. I had a sangria and he had a horchata. Both were delicious. I’m going back! Yum!

I was bummed. Great look to the place. Among the best wait staff here in Tucson. Got the guac with chips and 3 diff salsas. Okay … for $ 7.50 … big ouch. I was hoping for something better. There are so many good Mex places to eat here that the bar of really good is very high. pooh

I went here for the first time yesterday and I was super impressed! Our server was Cesar and he was absolutely OUTSTANDING! The décor is very ‘botana’ and creates an atmosphere you can only find in secret gems like this. I had a Sonoran Burrito(it had another name, too, that began with a ‘p’ but I can’t remember it) and it was delicious! Great flavor and beautiful presentation. Our only complaint is there is no enchilada type item on the menu.

Sometimes no matter how hard you wish… I love the food here and have been giving them more chances than my last boyfriend… But this place continues to be it’s own worst enemy. The service sucks and there is a big disconnect between the kitchen and the waitstaff. There has not been one time in the fifteen or so(I told you… chances) that have NOT had issues… No management around to speak to… Blah blah… I just want to manage it myself and with just a bit of tweaking this place could be everything you want it to be as it has great potential. Now all that being said… If you have the patience and don’t mind that«service» is just a word here than go and eat the wonderful fish tacos and the pork, the grilled shrimp tacos… It’s all really good… sigh…I had to say goodbye It seems that the owner uses this place as a «front» for his/her real passion!!!

Hands down, no question asked, the BEST Mexican Food in Tucson, and maybe all of Arizona!!! I live in Phoenix and I have super cravings for this place because nothing comes close!!! You get SOMUCH for the price(big dinner for two and drinks was just over $ 25), the first round of chips are free with a home made red salsa, salsa verde, Pico de gallo, bean dip. The flavors of everything is mind blowing good. They charge $ 1.25 for additional chips and salsa but it is so worth it! Service is casual, but not slow. My point is, do yourself a favor and come here ASAP!!!

Seven of us came to this Mexican restaurant anticipating an authentic fare. The divvy interior included a full bar upon entering, and a walkway that led us to the dining area. The atmosphere was casual, festive, and the noise level was high. The complimentary chips and refried bean dip was a nice opener. The chips were crisp and readily salted for the addictive bean dip. The Don Camaron Burrito($ 9.99) arrived with garlic adobo shrimps, cilantro rice, grilled jalapenos, grilled red onions, queso, and chipotle sauce. I liked the level of spiciness, but the flavor of the grilled veggies really overpowered the shrimps and the cilantro rice. The tortilla also lacked a good chew, and instead turned out dry, flaky, and easy to crumble. For the price, the burrito did not meet my expectations. The Juan($ 7.99) came with three tacos with adobada, pollo en adobo, and green chile pork. The adobada was sensational. The marinade was complex, delicious, and the meat was tender and moist. Comparatively, the other meat choices tasted one-dimensional, and did not carry the same wow factor. The side of rice and pinto beans were decent fillers but not spectacular. Service was spotty and inconsistent. By the end of the meal we had to walk up to the register to pay. I would only return to have more of the adobada pork tacos.

Another short and simple review, this place is a solid four stars. I sat on the patio, it was cozy. I arrived at Happy Hour so I had a margarita, it was tasty. I ordered two carnitas tacos, they were tasty. I ordered a bowl of tortilla soup, it was tasty. Why not five? I wasn’t WOWED, but I sure did enjoy the crap out of my meal!

This place was suggested to us by a friend who had stopped here during a vacation. She told us to «get the Sonoran hot dog» — what? In Arizona… a hot dog?! Well this isn’t just any hot dog — the toppings are mega and as strange as this may sound, the hot dog is perfectly cooked & the bun so super soft. Plus the prices are CHEAP! I mean, $ 2 or $ 3 for a taco, hot dog, etc. All of the food is good and doesn’t taste cheap. The food is very authentic. My husband and I ordered a few items each, incl. the hot dog & margaritas, our bill was inexpensive. We almost missed the building though — it’s on the corner of a run down shopping center. Our GPS got us there but I was looking for a huge stand alone restaurant — it does stand alone but it’s small… maybe a dozen tables inside and if my memory serves me right, there was a patio. If you don’t speak Spanish, it’s okay — just point to what you want, never fails. If you find yourself in the area you need to stop here! It was a 10 – 15 drive from our hotel and sure, we passed plenty of places but we had a gut feeling this place wouldn’t let us down.
