Le Rendez-vous is an experience you will enjoy. The pepper steak is great and the service is excellent. Take someone you want to spend a few hours with as the service is a few. All in all LRV is a special place and enjoy it with someone special.

My wife and I ate dinner at Le Rendez. last night. The service was very good and the wine list by the glass was acceptable. For starters, we had the escargot and sweetbreads; both were«excellent.» My wife had the veal medallions and I had the duck with cherries; once again both were«excellent». I would rate this restaurant as a 4+. We will be back.

The food was great, but everything else was lacking. We arrived on time for our 715pm reservation for a requested. quiet table for for. Upon arrival, Frank told us our table would not be ready for a half hour and we should wait at the bar. After awhile, when no one took our drink orders, other tables emptied and walk-ins were seated, we asked for another table. Frank told us that customers should request, not demand and that the entire staff was aware of us.(!?!). Eventually we were seated next to a table for eight that took up most of the dining room exit/entry area and was about 3 inches from our table. Result? Every guest entering or leaving the restaurant and/or rest room bumped into my chair, put their hands on my shoulders to squeeze by or asked me to move. Unpleasant in so many ways, will not return.

I can now say as a fact one of the best meals ever in Tucson. Three different plates ordered and of course I tasted each one. One just as Great as the other. The dessert fabulous. Just go you will not be disappointed.

Very nice atmosphere. Very good food and the food is fresh. Only downside is when they have a set menu for holiday special evenings as both times I’ve gone to one, they ran out of items.

Get the small plates! To do that, you need to eat in the bistro rather than the formal dining area. You can also order the regular menu in the bistro. We had the escargot app(a better deal than the small plate), duck, Brie, scallops, beef Wellington, and salmon. All delicious. There was a Unilocal deal for a free glass of wine. We basically had French tapas and I would highly recommend the perfect food, flawless service, excellent wine, and nice atmosphere.

I came here a few years ago for dinner and wanted to check out their happy hour. A group of co-workers and I went for an engagement celebration. It was 5:30 on a Tuesday, and the place was bustling, which was a good sign. But I had a feeling that also meant we would be there a while… The overall consensus of the service on here is fairly accurate – very knowledgable and friendly, but very slow. I would imagine the cuisine takes time to perfect, but we were near-starving before the small plates arrived. Drink orders were tough to get through to the staff as well. An empty glass is always a bummer. The food itself was all 5-star. The mini Wellington was a good-sized portion and cooked to perfection. I also ordered the fried Brussel sprouts appetizer that came with a nice lemony dipping sauce. I had to give escargot a try, and it was a mouthful of garlic butter chewiness. Maybe that’s the appeal, but I’ll pass next time. I think they were very good escargot??? I’m not sure of the standard. With a couple Kronenbourgs to drink, I had a pretty decent happy hour in an upscale, but not stuffy, atmosphere. Rendezvous wouldn’t be a go-to happy hour spot for me, but it’s a nice(albeit slow) change of pace once in a while. The two reasons this review gets 4 stars instead of 5 are the slow service and steep price range. If Rendezvous offered small plates for $ 5.50, as advertised on their online menu, instead of $ 6, and a beer or two on special, since not all diners are winers(maybe $ 4 instead of the $ 4.50−6 range), this would be a new favorite. I will definitely return for my next Wellington, frogs legs, or French onion soup craving.

Celebrated our anniversary last night. After reading reviews, we decided to go with the small plates. We ordered one of each. They are $ 6 a piece and offer 2⁄3 bites per plate. This was a perfect way to get a taste of various items on the menu. Loved them a but the salmon. Pretty dry. Also enjoy the onion soup as well as Crème brûlée and soufflé. Staff was very knowledgable and helpful when we had questions. We will defiantly be going back

OK here goes this one is going to be a bit odd, but hey… Found this gem on Open Table and wanted to give something new a try. It really is nestled behind a circle K and looks like a little converted house, so cute. Im giving this french gem 4-stars becasue of the food and non wait staff that helped us out. When we arrived we were told by a server that there were no tables available in the dining room even though we had reservations. Come to find out the man who greeted us wanted another table in his section and seated us in his, no bueno guy, no bueno. The drink waitress and bus boy/desert cart boy were fantastic, always there to accomodate our needs. I only saw our waiter to order and pay. Service was a bit slow but not horrible for an intimate quiet setting. That being said, lets move onto the yummy food. The menu is indeed french, offering small plates as well so you can try before you buy! I must recommend the sweet breads and escargot, if you have to google these no worries, they are delicious! The offer something for everyone, including french vegitarian. The entrees are good sized, but the sides leave something to be desired. They are pre determined. The beef wellinton the hubby had looked great, although he said the fois grais it advertised inside wasnt visible. Make sure to try a good glass of the wine offerings and go a bit early, it filled up for a weekend dinner. The price is for a date night or special occasion but worth trying out. Go for the small plates on a budget, well worth it. Faves: sweet breads

Came here again, and while the service was better, I had to send my steak back, because it was clearly well done, and I had asked for medium rare. It had also been over seasoned to the point of inedible. The second time was better, and the chef came out to apologize, but I was still very disappointed. The wine glass I received looked like something from a dive restaurant. Cloudy, small and a very unappealing stem. This place is not«The French Laundry», but few restaurants are. However, this place is not even a «Garçon», which is a cozy french bistro in SF with a slightly less expensive menu than rendez vous, but much better décor, delicious food and an impressive wine list. They should really shoot for a Garçon, instead of believing they are a true fine dining experience. That would probably up the stars to 3.

Drooollllllll Don’t think of it as snails, think of it as buttery juicy… things. But get the damn escargot. So. Good. And ask for extra bread to dip it into the fatty garlicky buttery goodness juice when the escargot is gone. The duck is spectacular and the beef Wellington — wow. literally falls apart in your mouth. I sometimes can’t decide between eating quickly so that others wont have a chance to munch at my food too or slowly so that I could enjoy mine more. To top it off, the Crème brûlée is to die for. The price isn’t too bad and honestly WORTH it. Make reservations ahead of time and don’t expect spectacular service(3.5÷5 on that), only spectacular food(and sometimes, that’s enough)

Very pleased with this place. We ordered all small plates and were so glad we did. The Beef Wellington was wonderful and we also really enjoyed the Brie. The waitress recommend the Brie and we weren’t sure but happy we did. The mussels and escargot were good but not on par with above. Our least favorite was the salmon. For dessert try the chocolate lava cake with vanilla goat’s cheese ice cream. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely recommend coming here.

A group of us ate in the bistro section which is in the back of the restaurant where the entrance is. The first challenge was finding a parking space as parking options are very limited. However, it is worth getting to the restaurant wherever you park. The bistro area is not too large and includes a bar. The tables are marble-top without table clothes as compared to the«restaurant» area that does have table cloths. The great thing about the bistro is the«small plates» with reasonable prices and the happy hour for ½ price hors d’oeuvres. You can easily make a meal out a few small plates or hors d’oeuvres. The latter has larger portions. I had the beet salad(on the salad side, not the small plate) and it was delicious-thinly sliced beets with greens, vinegarette dressing and goat cheese. I had the crab-stuffed shrimp from the small plate menu which was very good and then had the coquilles st. Jacques(scallops with bread/cheese topping. The sauce was so good, it was worth dipping bread in it. The scallops in this dish and others were quite large and cooked nicely. The one thing that could have been better was the waiter service as some others have mentioned. Two people at our table that arrived just a little later than me were never asked if they wanted a drink and those of us that had a drink were never asked again. The servers that filled our water and brought bread were more attentive. It took a long time after we were done to get our bill and have it returned. They would do better to have some of the servers also be waiters. At a high end restaurant like this, you expect better service. The chairs we had at our table were nicely covered in a cloth but were rickety and uncomfortable. The other tables had more comfortable chairs. Two in our party were charged for something they did not have but it was quickly corrected. It was nice that with the Unilocal app on your phone you could get a free small plate when you«check-in» I’d go back for the food but it’s a good idea to car-pool and allow enough time for the slow and spotty service. The food, though was very good.

We came with the group and the service for our table was fast, very professional and courteous — they were swift with the small plates entrees and removal– the food was so so good! Try the scallops or the frogs legs! Oh my they’re lovely ! The French onion soup was lovely and flavorful and lots of cheese! Please come to this place! It’s mid priced– parking is very tight– come early or drive a small car!

This little restaurant next to a hair salon and behind a Circle K is pretty good! Their food and drinks are well worth the visit. It can get pricy, so be sure to know what you’re getting yourself into, but I find it is worth the experience. When my fiancée tried the grand marnier soufflé, to her, it was the best dessert she’s ever had. Last time we visited family in Tucson, she kept asking if we were going to go get the soufflé from this place which we did. I’m sure we’ll be back again during the holidays!

To celebrate my 30th birthday, my husband and I drove over an hour from Sierra Vista to try out this place. When we arrived they had no reservation for us though my husband called yesterday. They gave him the option for 5 or 730 so we chose the latter. They accommodated us at a table where I had to move in order for my husband to get through to use the bathroom.(I’m 6 months pregnant) Our server, Vanessa, introduced herself to us and asked about drinks. We chose to do water. She later took our order and we never saw her again until it was time to pay. The runner/water guy was fantastic and way more attentive than the person whom was supposed to be our server. Upon receiving our appetizers, my husband received an unopened mussel and told the person that picked up the plate but still nothing from a manager or the server. I went to the restroom and the paper towel dispenser didn’t work. I didn’t notify anyone and I guess I should have but that’s something you should probably check daily. I came here for the chocolate cake that I saw online because it’s my birthday but there wasn’t any. :( I shared crème brûlée with my husband. The taste was good but it was refrigerated and brûléed who knows when. I’ve never had crème brûlée that wasn’t freshly brûléed. The food was fantastic which I’m happy about but service could have been much better. Lastly, we were the youngest table there. It must have been 50+ night or we have very mature taste. Overall, it was good but I’m not sure I’d come here again. It’s worth a try though.

We just went here for my boyfriends birthday. Instead of ordering one entrée each we opted to order most of the small plates alongside our wine. I cannot tell you how amazing each dish was. The scallop was prepared perfectly, which is the signature of a well trained chef. The crab stuffed shrimp, duck confit, escargot and beef Wellington were all so succulent and full of flavor. The finale was the baked Brie. If there was a dish I would describe as heaven, this would be it. There was no need to order dessert, as nothing could top it. There is no doubt we will be back. Keep up the amazing work. Muah! I adored Le Rendezvous.

I had wanted to try this place for a while, and now wish I had definitely gone sooner. Sure, it’s on the pricey side for Tucson but the food is delicious. Shared the Chateaubriand and it was so, so good. Perfectly cooked and flavorful. Also had the chocolate soufflé, which did not disappoint. Atmosphere was lovely and service was perfect.

I have always been a huge fan of French Cuisine because it is so complex and there is an art behind the food as well. I have lived in Tucson for 20 plus years and the area is saturated with Mexican and Asian Cuisine and not enough of these locally owned authentic French venue. We arrived at the restaurant with party of four and were seated immediately. Four highlights that will propel the restaurant ahead: Setting There is a warm, cozy ambience with Le Rendezvous that you can’t get anywhere else, it is the right size and makes you feel like you are in France and not in Tucson between Ft’Lowell and Alvernon. Staff The staff are very professional, attentive, well trained and overall nice people to be around. Food The Duck Confit Parmenier is so mouthwatering and ducks are some of the difficult meat to cook because of its distinct smell of the meat and yet there was none. There was a little left and when the waitress asked me if I was done with my plate, I said«Yes» with regrets and watched her took away the finest French food. The Cog Au Vin is amazingly good with perfect balance between the fried round cuts potatoes, the caramelized onions and the melt in your mouth chicken meat. Restrooms The restroom is very clean and actually smells good. There are paintings throughout the venue which adds a nice touch to the restaurant/galleria setting. To sums it all up it was a wonderful experience and my compliments to the Staff, the Chef and the Owner, I definitely will be returning to Le Rendez-vous.

I came to Le Rendez-vous for my birthday, and it was better than I could have imagined. From the Brie en Croute to the Grand Marnier Soufflé, every little thing was perfect. It had its flaws, sure: it was very, very loud, and like many of Tucson’s most incredible restaurants, the speed of service is slower than I’m used to. But unlike some of the others, someone was always nearby to refill a drink or answer questions. The menu was intimidating for my father, who won’t eat fish, and who prefers his meat well done. In the end, he ordered veal, but was sad to find that it was also barely cooked. I usually feel the same way, but my Boeuf Wellington was among the best things I’ve ever eaten, served medium rare. I ordered the Vichyssoise soup, which I can barely pronounce. I’m always excited to try the soup at a nice restaurant, and this one did not disappoint. It was cool, fresh, and delicious. Although it took us more than two hours from start to finish(including dessert), Le Rendez-vous now sits high atop my list of extremely nice restaurants for special occasions. The staff is polite and helpful. The prices here are quite high, for Tucson dining. But the food and the experience justify it, and a restaurant that delivers four courses without a single bad bite is hard to find.
