Stopped by today to pick up a birthday present for my son’s friend. I bought 2 hats (buy 1 get 1 ½ off) and a hat rack. Robert rang me up and the only conversation we had was him answering my questions about the hat rack. He gave me my total which I kind of questioned by asking if I got the second hat ½ off. He confirmed that I did and then said, «Oh yeah and I forgot your discount for the hat rack.» He added the discount, my total came down a little and it shut me up. He then gave me a card and told me to use it whenever I shop at any of their locations so I could get certain discounts.
After I left, I checked my receipt and it turns out he charged me a membership fee for that discount card! It was $ 5 — I was already in my car (& pressed for time) so it wasn’t worth it for me to go back but wow… SHADY!!!
