Mission Palms

I have lived here 5 months and the office has changed management 3 times. I had to transfer apartments after 3 months (June through August) of the maintenance staff being unable to fix my air conditioning. The maintenance staff is unqualified and unprofessional. Fixing my AC was not a priority for them even when it was an excess of 110 degrees outside. My electric bills from the time with the AC broken were upwards of 400 dollars and I have yet to see any kind of refund. When I looked at apartments to transfer to, one of those had a broken AC. On top of that, I’ve had problems with caterpillars, wasps, and cockroaches. They water the lawns so much that it’s a breeding ground for strange bugs. They don’t limit how many people per apartment. A family of 12 lives next door to me. They don’t clean the second pool that’s not right next to the leasing office. The equipment in there fitness center is cheap. The apartments are old and gross. The «granite» counter tops are a hastily applied sticky coating. The «wood» floors are vinyl. Not to mention, I have been verbally assaulted by the incompetent front desk staff who claim that the internet is down every time I have a problem just to get me to go away. Do not under any circumstance sign a lease here.

This place and the people working here are Complete Trash. The only positive thing I can say about it is that they let me out of my lease after three months and the only reason they did that was to get me to remove my Unilocal review. Never got my deposit back either even though they promised to return it.
So a year ago I go visit this place. Over the phone the girl I was working with told me there is no pet rent. This is the only reason I went to check out the apartments. I sit down with one of the leasing agents and after she took my deposits and I started signing the lease she brings out 3 pieces of paper, 1. Pet Rent Discloser, 2. Asbestos Discloser, 3. Tenants is responsible for turning on the GAS. #3 wasn’t such a big deal but #1 and #2… Yeah they make you sign an asbestos disclosure form after you sign the lease. I was furious, I asked them specifically if they charge pet rent and they told me «No, We dont charge Pet rent.» Who wants to live in a place where they openly tell you that asbestos is on the walls? I refused to sign the papers, asked for my deposits to be returned so I can just walk. She said «No, you already signed the lease.» The Ink was literally still wet but she refused to let me leave. I told her that I was lied to and I am not going to sign, she said «You’re not getting the keys to the apartment then!» How shady is this? I was new to town, had no place else to stay so I signed the papers and took the keys. Within hours of moving in thousands of ants started coming out of the kitchen. Over the next month I went into the office on a daily basis as they refused to fix or even admit I had an ant problem. Thats right, they wouldn’t even come look for them selves, «That place is newly renovated, there is no way you have a pest problem.» I took my phone in and showed them the video, they still refused to send anyone out. So I went into the office on a Saturday when they were full of potential renters and made a fuss, it was only then that they called an exterminator. What kind of service is this? I had to make a fuss in front or potential clients to get them to help, this is not how good businesses act. The ant problem never got solved, they sent a guy out that sprinkled powder everywhere, I told him that’s not going to help and he replied «I know, but this is all they are willing to pay for so this is all I can do.» He was a nice guy and told me that the office refused to pay the proper amount for the problem to get fixed.
Now the girl that signed me up quit two weeks later, I forgot to mention that I asked her to ask the management to let me out of the lease considering I was lied to about the pet rent, she told me they refused. When I asked the manager to let me out of the lease, I think her name is Jennifer, she told me that this was the first she was hearing about my issue with the girl that signed me up. Imagine that!!! So after days of complaining she refused to let me out of the lease, so I wrote a review to warn others of this places shady dealing and sub standard living environment. She called me the next day and told me they were willing to let me out of the lease as long as I delete the review. I gladly accepted this offer though if I was a bit better at this sort of thing I would have waited until I got my deposits back. They promised to return my deposits minus a cleaning fee, I was ok with that but it never came. I called and called and every time the office staff told me that Jennifer was out of the office and that they’ll give her my message. She never called back and never returned my money.
Stay away from this place! They somehow managed to delete their Unilocal page, the first on I posted on was filled with bad reviews.

Can’t wait to move out! Lots of ants, management changing monthly, unkept property, cars getting broken, into loud extremely loud neighbors, sports court the lights on at all times during the night shining into my windows blinds are cracked and bent when moved in was since blinds were bent when I moved in was told there was nothing they could do about it, not energy efficient whatsoever when it comes to appliances and windows. only gave it one star because I had to management here is very unprofessional send maintenance team does little to nothing the cleanup crew dog poop everywhere. Cars speed through here they let dogs out on the sports courts when they’re not supposed to be you complain nothing done can’t wait to leave also the rent is super super high here outdoor kitchen a mess and pool is not heated, if it is heater is never on oh and the stairs suck and my unit leaks every time it rains did they fix it nope. Don’t live here!
Its been a few days since my post, but today they trimmed all the trees and blocked the walk way to my door. I called and was told sorry were closing, I said are you kidding me and she hung up on me. This place is so Shitty, oh and we have another manger.

I have been living in this apartments for almost three years along with my family. The green areas in the complex along with the pool area make up for how old the apartments actually are. This past year the apartments have been under new management, the prices have gone up significantly and the service has done the opposite. This past year we have been adjusting to how ever many remodelation inconveniences they have wanted. We have been required to move everything from our patios including cars for weeks because they don’t have a painting schedule set and they act like it’s our problem. my MAIN issue though, are the ladies at the office. The new management replaced everyone in the office and they somehow managed to find the most disrespectful, rude people in this city and I could even say the state. I can only think of one lady who is actually nice in that whole office, I think her name is luly. They act and talk to you like you are the one working for them. They are never willing to help or act like they have the disposition of doing so. Reminders sound like accusations. This is all coming from a renter that pays on time and doesn’t bother anyone. I am so unsatisfied with this that I can’t wait for my contract to be over and move so I don’t ever have to see them again. It is a shame given that I have lived here very comfortably before.
