I hired this company to move us a block from a rental house to a house we bought. We packed everything we could and moved most of the stuff ourselves. We just had them move the big stuff. I had them quote an hourly rate since there wasn’t much to move. The guys that showed up complained about just about the remaining stuff they had to do. I also called the company ahead of time and told them to put down pads at the new house to protect the wood flooring. They assured me this was standard practice and would be done. It was not. They pushed a dresser across the wood floor and deeply gouged it. There were several other places they also damaged it. I pointed this out to the crew chief and he told me to just note it on a form and a claims rep would contact me. I asked him if he wanted to see what his crew did, but didn’t want to go with me. He wanted to get out of there as fast as he could. When I finally got billed for the move, they over charged me way beyond the quote for the actual work they did. I had to fight for a partial refund. Then they also argued about liability for the floor, stating that I didn’t have the crew chief inspect the damage while he was there. I noted he reused to do so. The Bekins manager «interviewed» his own crew, and they lied to him about what happened, and the manager believed his own crew over me. Noting that I paid for insurance, he finally had a third party guy come out to do repairs. The guy was a furniture repairman, not a hard wood flooring repairman, so his quality of work wasn’t great. I still have some dull spots in the floor where he tried to do repairs. Bottom line: this company is shoddy and unethical. Avoid.
