I am a very frequent visitor to Oriental Chi. I go every 2 – 3 weeks. I started going when I moved to Arizona 5 years ago. I liked that I did not need an appointment so I could go whenever it fit my schedule. I have a lot of neck pain due to muscle spasms in my neck. I was told to try massage for this. I usually do 40 minutes back and 20 mins for feet. It’s very relaxing and they are quick to change their pressure if you ask. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because when I do ask for ONLY my neck to be done, they try to massage my arms and lower back as well, when I asked specifically for the neck that time. Additionally, I do like the pricing. Since I go so frequently, it helps to not pay $ 80 each time like some places charge. Give it a try!

I’ll admit it… I’m a massage junkie! Let me just get 2 points in: One, this is not a spa environment. You stay fully clothed, and the therapists cover you with another sheet and work on you. Two, there is a reason this particular Oriental Chi location has more reviews… there are some OUTSTANDING therapists here Make sure you get one of them if you want deep work. WOW! I’ll put a couple of them up against any other place in town… including Rubs and Massage Envy. Ok, with those two points out of the way, your decisions are Now or Later, 45 or 60 minutes(there are other options, but really… do you want the work or not?), and what to wear so they can best work on you. Did I mention Joyce and John are truly amazing? ok, I did now.

I would really rate this place 3.5 if possible. I have been here probably about 50 times. My biggest recommendation, if you find someone that is good, only go back to that person. It is extremely hit or miss here. Some people are fantastic and other people don’t have a clue as to what they are doing.

There is so much about this type of massage that should be a turn off… the fact that you’re mostly out there for anyone to view as you’re getting your massage, you’re in a noisy mall, you might have someone else getting a massage mere inches away from you… Yet, I find myself coming back again and again. Why? Simply because the massage is great. I’m a deep tissue, work-out-the-knots type person. And when that’s being tended to, then the noise of the mall and the breathing of the person next to me gets zoned out. It’s slightly cheaper than a regular«spa» massage, but I’ve noticed the prices seem to have jumped a little lately. My 30 minute rub down cost me $ 28 plus tip. But I always feel like so much more gets accomplished in those 30 minutes, as the hands are working quickly and with experience. If you don’t like a lot of pressure, this may not be the style for you. It’s the perfect lunch time treat, you don’t have to strip down and you won’t return to the office late. For atmosphere they get 2 stars, but for quality of the massage… for those who like pressure, it’s a 5 star rub.
