Our new home is absolutely amazing, and we cannot say enough positive things about working with Tom Wuelpern. He was in touch by e-mail every step of the process when we could not be consulted in person and decisions needed to be made. If you want to be very involved in your home-building, he’s your guy; or if you want to leave some of it up to a pro, he can take more of the responsibility. We wanted to have a definite say in the design, and he worked with us and we love the result. Our PureBuild house is beautiful, spacious, and all that we had hoped for. And Tom and Jeff helped us keep our cost in check, so that our house did not exceed our budget — in fact, the final cost was a little less than we had anticipated. And the house was finished in a timely fashion. We couldn’t have had a better experience.

I can’t believe 2011 is nearing an end, did I miss something or did this past year fly by faster than a sleigh of elfin’ good cheer? Regardless, I’m using the month of December to highlight my most locally loved people, places and things, responsible for making this past year one of my best in the Old Pueblo. He wrapped up construction sooner than he thought, he put a roof over my head, and he truly made my house my home… it’s only fitting I kick off my monthly homage to the best in the southwest with a review for Tom Wuelpern at Rammed Earth Development who makes living in Tucson pretty damn spectacular. Picture exposed wood beams, rusted steel columns, authentic Mexican tile, 3 sets of french doors that open up to amazing views and a stove that makes appliances on the Food Network look like easy bake ovens(seriously my stove is art). Aside from good design and craftsmanship, Tom a good guy. And he wants me to have neighbors. My 500 square foot backyard isn’t much more than some dirt and rocks, but you could move in. Just tell Tom you’re ready to break ground!
