Customer service is lacking today. Maybe I am old fashioned but I sort of expected the cashier to get off her cell phone and interact with me when I picked up my clothes. Instead, she continued her phone conversation as if I were not even there.

Do not use this cleaners. Second time they have lost clothes. Fighting to get paid for what is missing. Well over 30′ days before getting a check they promised last week then they are trying to cheat me out if the tax! Patricia Schaffer doesn’t even have the professional courtesy to return calls!

I also was a first time customer, and selected this cleaners because they are«perc free» and they’ve been around a long time. I took my bedcover and 2 shams to them to be dry cleaned, and they lost one of the shams! This bedding set, which was very expensive by my standards, is no longer carried by the store where I bought it. It is also a very distinctive color. It is much too long of a saga to relate blow-by-blow. The major points are: –They lost the sham, and it took almost a month for them to admit it. –The staff at the store showed little interest in my concerns as I called repeatedly to learn the status of my order. –When the rest of the set minus the sham came back for me to pick up, it was clear that it had never been cleaned, even though it was in a plastic bag. –The owner, Patricia Shaffer, would not honor my claim for the replacement value of the set, suggesting I could find a new set of shams that would«go» with the coverlet. She finally paid me about ¼ of the replacement cost of the set. I will NEVER take another item to Shaffer Dry Cleaners!

I was a first time customer and brought in three pairs of pants. One pair in particular had quite a few stains, so I knew there was a chance that they couldn’t get them out. I told the girl that they can do whatever they want to try to clean the pants. I also told her that I was hoping to wear them on Saturday night. Well on Saturday morning I walk in to pick up my pants. She brings them back and the dirty pants were hanging by the button hole on the hanger with a note saying I needed to sign a special release in order for them to clean. I never received a call to inform me of this issue. Now I know the pants had multiple stains and I don’t expect any dry cleaner to perform magic, but the lack of care for my pants hanging by the button hole was totally unacceptable. It really makes me question how they handle their clients garments. It would of also been nice for their customer service to follow through and give me a call about signing a release. Needless to say, they didn’t charge me for the other two pants, but I don’t trust their handling of garments and do not plan to return.
