I understand it is a muni. And I understand it is cheaper to play here than the fancier courses. But I don’t understand why the traps have basically no sand. Additionally the greens are so slow making any putt over 10 feet would be more luck than skill. The fun part of this course(other than the bargain) is the old school, non-desert, type where you can basically hit it as hard as you want and wont be penalized too much when you slice or hook the living heck out of your ball. Personally, I can see playing here in the winter when the Ventanas, Starr Passes, etc of the world(By «world» I mean«Tucson!») are super expensive. But in the summer, you are crazy to play these munis. Of note, the staff here is great all around; nice folks and very helpful.

I played 18 holes here with my buddy on an early Saturday morning. I loved this course! The reason I liked it was because it was very open and I could salvage most of my bad shots. This course is great for beginners. The reason I am giving it 4 stars is because I didn’t really like the way they organize the tee times. Also my friend and I had a buy one get one free and it was not buy one get one free. They did something weird with the prices, other that it was great!

When I showed up hey started me on the back 9. But the groundskeepers were still mowing and watering so I had to wait on the first 5 holes for he water to shut off and it screwed up my puts because the greens were too wet. As the day went on I can see how this course can be a good one. It’s a city course so I don’t expect the fairways to be perfect, the only reason I am giving it 3 stars is because of the water issue. I will come back with some of my less experienced friends because the fairways are wide open. Great for beginners.

Stop by the driving range here, minimally staffed. You can get bucket of balls for either $ 4 for small or $ 7 for large.

Not a bad track since they renovated… this place used to be a dingo farm, and now its quite playable. It’s pretty cheap, ok conditions and not very crowded– if you can’t find a good deal on golfnow, play the ‘Bell.
