The Billing Company

This company has caused me more than enough frustration while trying to get an alleged erroneous past due bill straightened out. I received a bill from them for a supposed balance due of $ 6.00 at my physical therapy place. I called to ask why I was being billed for an item I paid for with cash, and was told I would get a return call. No return call. Then I received a bill for $ 30 for a co-​pay I supposedly didn’t pay. I checked my records and I did pay on that date. I called and spoke with the woman again, and she once again told me there may be a mix up and it could actually be a co-​pay I didn’t pay from November of 2010, but they applied it to January of 2011. She asked if she could get back to me after she «researched» it. No return call. Several weeks later I got a «Patient Reminder» saying I needed to pay the $ 30 since it is past due. I called, again, today and explained to the woman that she never calls me back and that I would like to get this settled. I paid my co-​pay on the date in January they are claiming I didn’t, and she once again said it may be from November, 2010 or possibly from 2009 when I had gone for physical therapy previously. I told her I will check online and see if I paid my co-​pay in November 2010 so that when she calls me back in one hour I can tell her I did, in fact, pay it. It has been over an hour, no call back yet, but I do anticipate that IF she calls me back she will then try to claim it is from 2009. I will not be happy about that and will likely refuse to pay it. Seriously, 2009? And they are just now sending me a bill for it? I think not. And if they think I’m going to chase after them in order to pay a co-​pay I believe has been paid then they are sadly mistaken. This is a clear example of a company that either doesn’t train their employees correctly or their computer programs suck at keeping track of real payments.
