Drive to 22nd and head east to Filberto. This place is super weak!

As far as quick and cheap Mexican goes, Taco Shop is my favorite. They even have drive-thru if you need it super quickly. This is a great late-night stop because they are open 24 hours. The prices are reasonable except that you have to pay for chips if you want chips and salsa. I always get the veggie burrito and it’s packed with deliciousness. Again, not a place you would want to take people who are visiting Tucson for the first time, but definitely a good option when you want quick and cheap!

NASTY! Soggy cheap chicken tacos, overpriced for what you get. Taco bell across the street is 100 times better and cheaper. I ate there once with a group of 4. Everyone complained afterwords. We also ate in the small dinning area, bad idea. The area was dirty, the A/C wasn’t cutting it, this is Southern AZ, A/C is a requirement. There is like 4 of these places in Tucson, and because of my experience here I will never eat there again.

I came, I ate, I liked. Unfortunately, I am a «rut» eater, in that I tend to eat the same stuff or items at any one place. I’m trying to broaden my eating experience, but when a menu item is so good, that’s all I want when I go back. This is the way it is at The Taco Shop. I’ve had several items, but the one that keeps me coming back here is the gargantuan Arizona burrito($ 3.99). It’s got to be at least one pound of steak, potato, cheese and bean heaven with no unpleasant aftertaste. I like the breakfast burritos(with eggs), but this one serves you well as a breakfast item also. The rolled tacos are excellent, with the 3 rolled tacos, cheese, and guacamole special being a nice little snack in the middle of the afternoon. I’ve had a couple of the enchilada combo plates — they’re OK, but not great. A decent little salsa bar, and I like the fact that horchata and jamaica refills are free(they are out front with the soda machine). The place was kinda remodeled recently, and is generally pretty clean, much more so than a lot of the other taco shops in town. The rice they serve, as well as the beans are good — I’m sure they are out of the can, but I still like them. 24 hours, too, in the old Lucky Wishbone on South Wilmot near 22nd.

was in town visiting family, on my way to the airport we stopped here for a quick bite. i had a veggie burrito. i was pleasantly surprised how good it was, i loved there hot sauce too. if i were back in town i would hit this place up again. it is taco shop style, not a high end place, but the food was great.

You want a breakfast burrito then go here. Having lived in san antonio it can’t match up but its open 24⁄7 so if youre drunk and craving some mexican its not bad.

Well I found myself in the taco shop, so what should I get? What else but the number one special which includes 2 beef tacos. The tacos were ok. The re-fried beans with cheese were good enough to have me come back. The salsa and extras buffet had the hottest peppers I’ve ever had. My mouth was still burning 3 hours later. For those that have been in Tucson a while the location used to be a Wishbone Fried Chicken.

The youngsters in my life keep raving about the one downtown, so we thought we’d give the eastside location a try. In the old Lucky Wishbone building just north of 22nd and Wilmot, this taco shop manages to be a bit homelier than most Nico’s. We got burritos, and they were very good, but it was the fountain drinks that caught my attention. Most taco shops guard their horchata and jamaica drinks — no free refills on these! But here at the Taco Shop Co, horchata and jamaica flow freely next to the self-serve tea and cola. Their availability made me quite happy — and I think I may have created a new drink! Now, follow me here: iced tea mixed with lemonade is called an «Arnold Palmer» — I mixed my iced tea with one-fourth jamaica and christened it a «Lee Treviño». And damn good by the way! If you ever see it on a menu somewhere, you heard it here first.
