Timothy A Beer, MD — My mother went to see him and he honestly did a very poor job of caring for her. She is 70 years old and was complaining of sharp pains in the palm of her hand. Her first visit he said it’s nothing, just rest and come see me again if it continues to hurt.(wow! no x-ray or anything!) Second visit, finally takes an x-ray and it shows nothing wrong, so he decides on injecting cortisone into the affected area and tells her to come back 6 weeks later for check up. 3 weeks later, her hand is getting worse and worse. This is when we call him and he refuses to speak with her outside of her appointment day&time(He will not speak to you on the phone.) So nearly two months pass and she is doing worse than before she saw him. Why didn’t he order an x-ray on the first visit? If the x-ray reveals nothing wrong, why is he continuing to try to treat her hand(as an orthopedic surgeon) instead of referring her to another specialist, since it is not a bone related issue? Why can’t he pick up the phone and speak with her for 5 minutes? This is poor medical care at its best. Do not see Tim Beer. I have taken my mother elsewhere to follow up on her hand pain issue.

Have only seen him once so far, but he was very helpful and reassuring. I have been told by other doctors that he is the best hand specialist in Tucson. Staff was also very professional and friendly.
