As it turns out, apparently there are some things you can’t get rid of using the «free» section of Craigslist. My hideous old couch was one of those things.

I emailed the business over the weekend when it became clear I wasn’t going to fool anyone into taking the thing away for free. They replied right away with an estimate, and even suggested I could throw a few more things in and still stay at the minimum (my case was easy but for bigger jobs they will do an in-​person estimate). They arrived on time when they said they would, and even took their shoes off… even though my house isn’t that clean. ;-) Careful, friendly, professional — a great locally-​owned business that I will definitely hire again.
Much to my dog’s dismay, her favorite old couch is off to the dump. But I couldn’t be happier.
