Kathryn Ferguson is amazing! She is very kind and an amazing instructor! She has a way of making me feel like her studio is a safe place. She has shown me how to do adaptations of her routine. She is a beautiful person, impressive dancer and a caring teacher. I couldn’t ask for a better experience!

Kathryn Ferguson is a world renowned belly dancer, trained in Egyptian style. She has owned her own studio for years, in Tucson, and is sought after by many. Her company, the Xanadu Dancers, is a dynamic cast of students who perform regularly at Fronimos, the Pima County Fair, Tucson Meet Yourself, and many other engagements throughout town. If you are looking to take classes, this is definitely the spot! There are several other more tribal style studios around town, but here you will learn a unique artistic style of mideastern dance. All ages, shapes, and sizes are welcome in classes, and you can’t beat the price. The studio is part of Kathryn’s home, with great wood flooring, mirrors, and acoustics. Belly dance is a great workout, and this is a non intimidating place to get started. Join us!

I took classes 2012⁄2013 through Kathryn Ferguson @ Xanadu. I plan on going back this year. Kathryn’s a terrific teacher and makes it fun to learn. I loved taking classes through her, and even though it’s a drive for me to get there it’s definitely worth the time.

I joined Xanadu in Fall of 2008 to try something new and different. I’ve never felt more comfortable/sexy in my own skin than I have since this experience. My friend and I had so much fun every class and made some good friends. We both started with no dance experience, so it is extremely easy to start! I highly recommend. I danced for just over a year, but have shifted my focus to swimming & triathlon training. My friend is still there(and in the Dance Troupe!).

Found Kathryn Ferguson and the Xanadu Dance Studio in 2005 when I took the Middle Eastern Dance class via Pima Community College, and have since continued with the classes at the studio. Kathryn is such a joy to learn from and has great energy during class — as does her other teacher standins, such as Sandy. It’s an hour escape from the stresses of life just to go and enjoy wonderful Arabic music and let loose. Her Xanadu Dance Troupe have also performed at various Tucson festivals.
