i lived at Zona Verde for three years. I kept returning to rent there because it was familiar, close to campus, well-kept grounds, and I felt safe there. However, these apartments do whatever possible to get every penny possible out of you. Apartments were rented to me in FILTHY conditions– some of the drawers weren’t even cleaned out from past renters. Maintenance requests would go untouched until my dad would call them. Each time I put in a maintenance request, it was as if they did not care unless my dad called. I was a student and I feel as though the management thinks most students do not care unless there is an actual urgent problem that needs fixing. This past year was especially upsetting. I signed a 12-month lease intending to add a «graduation clause» which enabled me to break my lease with proof of graduation come May 2015. When graduation was approaching, I went into the office to inquire about breaking my lease after graduation. Cathy, who works in the office, didn’t have a clue and gave me the number of her manager, who told me the graduation clause was with proof of December graduations. The whole experience was a huge mess and I ended up having to pay for the full 12 month lease after my dad and I had been led so far astray and no one knew any of the real answers. After receiving multiple apartments in filthy conditions, each time I moved out I really really cleaned the apartment to ensure I get my full deposit back. Only once did I receive the full $ 200 refundable deposit. This place really wants to take as much money as possible from its tenants which is completely ridiculous since this place is very overpriced.
