My husband brought me here for a Valentine’s Day brunch. Actually, they have brunch here every Sunday, but today was the day of amor. Customer Service: Excellent. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like family. The host and servers were attentive and I ever had to ask for a refill of coffee or mimosas. Our plates were cleared regularly and we were encouraged to take more trips to the buffet. Speaking of the buffet: Posole– awesome! They do not skimp on the meat and the broth is absolutely flavorful. I tried not to let anyone see me using the homemade tortillas to sop up the few drops that were left at the bottom of my bowl. Triple tip– fantastic.. super tender and cooked to perfection. Chili rellenos were great but we’re not to he overshadowed by the Hatch sliders. HOLYCOW! I was stuffed, but managed to fit some homemade flan, pudding and chocolate covered strawberries in there. What more can I say, it was worth the drive from West Covina and was the perfect way to start our day.

Went there yesterday. Very friendly staff, they constantly check with you, if you need more water, need another drink. The Best Margaritas and the guacamole is made right there at the table. I recommend everyone to come and enjoy!!!

We were down in the area visiting some family and we thought we would go here because we used to go here all the time, The food was usually good fresh and hot. But I can tell this place has gone downhill since I was last here about eight months ago. Three words describes my experience here and they are terrible terrible TERRIBLE. The service was OK I suppose with an exception he never gave us a refill on our drinks. My steak and shrimp Fajitas were massively overcooked and my tortillas were hard as rocks. My mothers chimichanga was undercooked anthe chicken tasted funny. It was just inedible and to add insult to injury we had to pay for it plus we had to pay an extra dollar for an extra scoop of sour cream Extremely disappointing we will make sure not to go back here ever again.

It’s a place for the older people. It has a great atmosphere, but the food is really bland. I could get better salsa out of a can. It really used to be the place to go to 3 – 4 years ago, but except for the drinks, I’d go somewhere else. The owner Lito has this attitude that makes it place not to visit.

Great food and a very friendly friendly staff … David D. TUJUNGA, CA from Tujunga posted a bad review because he has been banned from local restaurants for walking out on his check.

The staff is friendly and watching gaucomole made before your eyes is fun.(If you order it.) With the exception of the tacos(which is saved by pico, sour cream and gaucomole, the Mexican favorite choices are a fail. Everything arrives smothered in melted cheese and even that doesn’t help to add flavour. Bad refried beans and sour tomato dipped rice mush as your sides and you have the most bland dinner of your life. Any glimmer of hope is ruined by a bite into the tamales(don’t understand why people could like them). I have to have been hungry out of my mind to finish my meal. If you think this food is good, you haven’t been fed good food.

Joselitos is okay, I usually love authentic tacos. I was born in LA, so I have really high standards. The food is okay, I would come here again

Transplanted from Texas, I had high hopes after reading some reviews here, but no, it was not what I had hoped… not even close, really. The chips had no flavor and were greasy, the chicken fajitas were brought to the table on a cast iron skillet where the waiter squirted lemon to make it sizzle, then proceeded to take the fajitas OFF the hot pan to a COLD plate for us to serve ourselves. The tortillas were cold and the rice/beans had no flavor. Tasting the fajitas, they were cold too so it seemed they only used the cast iron pan for looks and not heating or serving. The enchiladas were cold as well and they taquitos greasy. Too much green peppers on fajitas but lovely onions. Seems like they didn’t try very hard with the salsa either. We sat outside which was pleasant and comfortable but the servers didn’t pay too much attention. Interior rugs were musky and I will not return and hope to find an authentic Mexican restaurant.

Very positive experience here. I had an amazing time. I ordered the blood orange margarita, shrimp cocktail ceviche and shredded chicken lettuce tacos, all wonderful! Ivan, our server, was also very attentive and knowledgable. The ONLY thing I would say that wasn’t that great we’re the chips, but that doesn’t change my review. Yummy!

This is our favorite Mexican place to eat… bar none. We always have the albondiga soup. It is amazing. No matter what you order, it’s always delicious. Today we ordered the Chipotle Short Rib tacos. They were also amazing. The service is always superb. The staff takes great care to make sure you enjoy your visit and the food is perfect. Francisco has taken care of us extremely well everytime we have visited. If you want absolutely delicious Mexican food come visit Josélitos in Tujunga…

Almond Joy martini at a Mexican restaurant? A non sequitur for sure… That was my first happy hour experience at Joselito’s…and what a great first impression. Last night I brought my mom for dinner. She ordered the Chimichurri flank steak with black beans and a warm corn relish served stylishly in a tortilla bowl… We ordered the steak rare and it did come out nicely reddish pink. It was tender and juice and flavorful. I ordered the Enchiladas Almondine which is basically a molé/red sauce mixture. You can choose either refried beans or black beans with Mexican rice. Also, you have your choice of chicken or beef or both — because OR makes you choose! The chips were served hot and the salsa was perfect. My Horchata was fantastic and a free refill too! They have a Wednesday night buffet at $ 9.99 and a weekend brunch. Outdoor seating is in a lovely setting and indoors is kitchsy, dark and homey. Our waiter Jesse was a pleasure. This is a neighborhood favorite and continues to make local families happy.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant. Very friendly staff. Wonderful food. The corn cakes are incredible. The fresh guacamole they make at your table is the best we’ve had. The short rib tacos are amazing, and the beef tacos are great. And you must have«adult hot chocolate,» with cinnamon tequila in it. We love this place.

I was looking forward to Mexican food and, after reading Unilocal reviews, decided to try this place. The restaurant staff is very friendly and accommodating, the style of the restaurant is cute and the parking is plentiful — overall a nice place. The food is mediocre. The chips are under seasoned, the salsa was, at best, cool tomato sauce and the Michelada that was served, although big, was lacking flavor. I ordered a quesadilla lito, something simple, and my other half ordered tortilla soup and taco fingers. My chicken had no flavor, it was overstuffed with cheese, the guacamole with the plate tasted like old avocados were used and the tortilla was hard and unappetizing. I didn’t find any part of our meal satisfying. Overall, I won’t drive out of our way to re-visit the restaurant.

Joselitos is like a fresh layer of snow on Christmas morning while the family sits together unwrapping presents underneath a beautiful evergreen. I assume. As I’m from California I don’t know what snow is, but I do know what Mexican food is, and this is it. If you do not eat here you will die. It will be bloody and awful. The Winchesters will not save you, because having not taken the opportunity to eat here would make you deserving of such a fate. In all seriousness it’s worth the drive and money. It is beautiful. It is art. If you think you’ve tasted every kind of Mexican food socal has to offer this little place will change your mind.

Solid Mexican food in Tujunga! Tujunga has a lack of good restaurants these days and I’d say this is probably one of the best restaurants in the area. It’s decorated super cute, little fountains and greenery in the patio with Mexican themed décor inside. I have had the steak, carne asada, chicken and pork tacos. All of which are really tasty and flavorful. The tableside guacamole is really good too. It’s customizable too. The man asked us how we prefer it and gave us options. I love that! They also have these little corn cakes in the appetizer section. Oh em gee, do yourself a favor and try them! The service was really good. They always check on you and bring things out quickly. I over heard a man at the table next to us and he was complaining about something. The waiter offered to bring a replacement and he said«no I don’t have time. Just take it off my bill». They said ok, took it off and then within minutes brought out a replacement anyway. That’s what I call service! The man was super shocked and seemed very happy.

I have no idea how many times I drove past Joselito’s before a bunch of friends invited me to join them there for margaritas. That was several years ago, and it was one of the best gifts they ever gave me! Joselito’s is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the foothills, and anywhere else, now that I think about it. The service is great, the drinks are tasty, and the menu just keeps getting better. The only thing I don’t like is the parking lot. That needs to be at least half-again as large, but I’ve gotten used to using the extra lot across the street. They’re worth it! As to recent reviews dissing the service over happy hour, I don’t know of *any* restaurant that doesn’t have limitations regarding happy hour. It’s not the fault of the restaurant if you arrive late, you know what I mean? If I could get there in time for happy hour myself, I’d be there every day, Monday thru Friday! Love you guys!!!
