I was so excited to visit this place and had high hopes for a great spot right in my neighborhood. Everything on Unilocal told me it was going to be great but the reality was far from it. There are no more Mediterranean food choices(hummus even?) and the food we were served was far below par. Granted, we came at an off hour and perhaps the chef was not available and others had to fill in? The staff was wonderfully friendly and the atmosphere was cute and welcoming but, sadly, at these prices and at that low-quality, we wont be coming back.

This café is really the heart of the community. Erin’s warm personality brings together a lot of random townsfolk, I’ve made a few friends from visiting this café. The food also happens to be outstanding and highly addictive, these girls can really cook.

I used to eat here all the time, but the last few times I was disappointed. I had the cheeseburger and it was a tiny little thing(the size of a double cheeseburger from McDonald’s). I could’ve eaten two easily; the burger is wayyyyyyy overpriced! 8 bucks for a small burger served on a Ralph’s bun! At least give me what I paid for… also it took like 45min-hour for my food to be served and the fries had a re-used oil flavor. Another time, I had the All American breakfast; the sausage was delicious, eggs cooked okay, pancakes were good until I got into the middle. The pancakes had crispy edges(delicious) and the middle was raw! The batter was running into my sausage… I immediately lost my appetite… The place could definitely use a good cleaning and dusting. Maybe they could use a storage space instead of using the dining room and patio. It definitely seems like they’re more interested in making a quick buck than having a legacy. I think if they would focus on quality, customer service and reputation they would go a lot further.

I’ve been back a few times since my first review and every time has been better than the last. This morning my dude and I came for breakfast. The service as usual was wonderful. The food was excellent. I had the eggs benny. The homemade hollandaise sauce is to die for! Of course we had the Noah cakes too. Our food came out quicker than usual. They’ve redone the seating area and expanded. And the icing on the cake, I found out that they deliver an have a huge delivery zone! This place is amazing.

What a happy little accident!!! We live in Corona, however in a long road trip home we found ourselves on the 210 East nearing Tujunga. Our tummies growled so I looked at the trusty Unilocal app and based on the stars we took a chance!(We just couldn’t do one more meal of disgusting fast food). To our surprise there was mellow live music playing on the patio, every single person who saw us smiled and said hello! Service was amazing, owner is SO sweet! Then came the food! Meatloaf is really impressive, the mashed potatoes are DEVINE and I don’t even like potatoes on a whole. Bleu cheese dressing… BEST I’ve EVER had!(I’m a bleu cheese-aholic and this bleu cheese will hit ya right in the mouth right away with a nice cream finish). My two year old devoured the home-made Mac and cheese and my husband had the bleu cheese blt which he said was just fair. The bleu cheese is really present. But the menu went on and on! They even had a gluten free and Vegan page! Really impressed!!! Will try to come back when we have the opportunity! What a gem!

I am floating in a bliss bubble, feeling both comfortable and joyous simply allowing my mind to mull over the grand establishment that is Comfort and Joy Café… Only having discovered this gem a couple of months ago, I’ve evolved into a Wednesday open-mic-night regular. You see, every Weds this magical thing happens over there… Musicians travel out to this quaint eatery nestled at the edge of the Angeles forest, to share their talents and great times in an excellently welcoming environment. And that waiter they have!!! My heart melts at the mention of his sweet name… Edwing. He is absolutely the most charming, handsome, and wonderful man I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Seriously, exceptional service truly makes the difference, and this man makes that difference. Since our meeting, I have spent hours scrawling his name with lipstick upon my bathroom mirror(my roommate is getting pretty frustrated). Not to mention you take one look into his gorgeous Latin eyes that sparkle with mystery and intrigue and you’ll be like ‘Brad Pitt who?‘ The rest of the staff I have met also follow suit… MARVELOUS Enchanting individuals whom it is a fine privilage to know… Jamie and Erin, gosh where does one begin? These saucy temptresses have the customers squealing with joy as they deliver tasty dish after tasty dish. They offer the kind of care that I’ve heard of in stories about caring midwives who tirelessly deliver babies deep in the jungles of Africa. Their down-to-Earth demeanor makes me feel so warm whenever I am there… it’s like Mother Teresa is tucking me in after an enduring day of hauling lumber. Or perhaps harvesting rattlesnake eggs. The younger lad Peter also does a tip-top job. He is as attentive as a mother bear delicately licking her newborn cubs. Also he provides speedy service with a pleasant demeanor. By the way guys, these digs have vegan and vegetarian options, which is so exciting. Especially on those days you watch a morbid PETA video and are entrenched with guilt upon considering an otherwise delectable chicken sandwich. More about their Open Mic Night on Wednesdays? What can I say but SIMPLYAWESOME. I was enjoying the bands so much one night, having such a wammy of a time, that both of my socks literally shot off my feet. I have yet to recover the socks.(worth it.) In closing, you can’t speak of the marvels of Tujunga, without mentioning the fabulous Comfort and Joy Café. BRAVO!

Nice little hidden gem! The staff is extremely friendly, and accommodating. They were very helpful with accommodating food sensitivities. Chris, their manager /chef, is a pastry chef… he is Gluten Free… therefore, is VERY aware in this arena, offering many GF choices. I found them today on Unilocal, when searching for a place to eat, in my friends ‘hood’. Whoever… would have guessed… that a little earthy café in Tujunga, would offer Gluten Free, Vegan, and Vegetarian options?!? Will miracles never cease?!? I would honestly have to say, this little café… offers more GF options, than your ‘fancy pants’ well known, high end ‘Healthy’ restaurants, on the Westside, or Studio City. What a Surprise!!!

The food here is really good and the staff is super nice. Seriously, I’ve rarely gotten food from a place with nicer people. I love the variety of their menu as well. They could use some improvement on their seating, but it’s great to sit outside on a nice day. Also the perfect place for take-out.

This place is right by my job and I eat there practically everyday! They have it ALL!!! Great selection of soups, breakfasts, lunches & dinners. They have the BEST Mediterranean wraps ever! I also like the chix and wrap and the veggie omelette! Sometimes I simply eat«fresh fruits,» which by the way are delicious! Everything is just so fresh and delicious at that place. Friendly employees too!!!

They Employ Fake Reviews! All you have to do is read their 5 star reviews and you can tell that they’re employee fakes. To start I will say the coffee is pretty darn good… but that’s where it ends. It’s been years since we first tried this place and were very disappointed. Both times we went for an american breakfast and both times we were highly disappointed. Each of our eggs were cooked wrong. The cook needs to learn the difference between over-medium and sunny side up. The potatoes taste like coconut oil which is a good sign they’re buying the cheapest of ingredients. Better off going to the golf course club house called the Agave Bar & Grill(only 2 miles away) for the same money! :) or Dish which is more expensive but pretty good. We sat on the patio because the rest of this place is pretty dirty like the other reviews state.

This place has been practically in my backyard, but because it didn’t seem very appealing from the street and always empty I never bothered to stop in. I recently noticed new signage and banners so when I was looking for a breakfast place nearby, this came up as a well reviewed place. My 6-year old son & I sat out on their patio and had an awesome breakfast. His giant pancake was so good, he almost finished the whole thing. I had the nana cakes because I love anything potato and they were delish! One of the staff told me they also do open mic nights, karaōke, live bands and even comedy nights. I was so excited and happy to find this place I came back with my husband and son for dinner a few days later. My husband had the gyro w/their awesome skin-on fries, my son had the mini-burger and I had the tuna wrap. We also tried the raw green energy drink which they make fresh and that was great also. The menu is an interesting mix of Mediterranean and American cuisine so when I asked the owner he explained that the place was previously an Armenian restaurant so they kept the most popular dishes on the menu. They also offer a variety of vegetarian and vegan items including desserts. This is definitely a place I will highly recommend and will put on my list of favorites for breakfast and lunch/dinner. Most importantly, everything we had was so FRESH! In fact, their motto is «we don’t serve fast food, we serve fresh food as fast as we can»!

An amazing little café serving up big portions of healthy, comforting fare at great prices. The Jimmy Cakes and homemade hummus are to die for. True to its name, restaurant owner Erin aims to deliver Comfort and Joy to her customers by providing a space to enjoy good food, fun and entertainment. The patio area is filled with fun knick-knacks and games and she regularly hosts musical guests to play for customers. Definitely a «neighborhood» spot for Sunland-Tujunga.

I had breakfast there yesterday with four of my friends and it is unanimous, we all enjoyed the food and in particular meeting Erin. The food was very good, I had the potato pancakes with everything. The dish came with two very large cakes, and I could have shared this dish and been full. We loved that Erin left a carafe of coffee on the table and was attentive to keeping it hot for us. She was so sweet and catered to our requests with a smile. We showed up before the door was unlocked, and even though, due to high winds the alarm had sounded, she let us right in. I will for sure return, for lunch next time. Buying the restaurant was a real leap of faith and I pray that Erin will enjoy success for a long time. Let’s support our local small business owners!

Spending time in the Tujunga area there are not many options for great cuisine, a few, such as the masterful manse of Mexican food and margaritas, Joselito’s, and the frolicking local sushi bar, Tori Yen, delight, yet there really has not been an establishment that serves up good old fashioned, all American, home-style comfort food. That is until Olde Towne’s Comfort and Joy opened up recently. The restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. One can dine in the café area or outside on a very hip covered patio. In addition, Comfort and Joy has a large, homey banquet room that is often secured for events and many evenings of live, free entertainment. What is quickly becoming C&J’s signature dish are it’s Jimmycakes, a variation of the cornmeal pancake that is a staple of east coast diners. While I have not yet myself tried the Jimmycakes(a massive pancake for sure to satiate), my dining partners who have, are in love with it; some of them go back regularly for more of the delightful flatbread. I have had the opportunity though to sample on a few occasions the chicken kabob plate. Roasted on stick over an open flame, the chicken is rubbed with what I’m told is a proprietary mixture of secret spices. Served with rice, pita and the two toppers — delicious homemade hummus and a tasty roasted tomato. I have not been a big fan of potato pancakes however C&J has converted me. One day for breakfast I had C&J’s take on the traditional latke. It’s a different texture and full of flavor that made me a latke fan. The pancakes come in various flavor combinations as well as all the fixings. The service is as friendly as it can be and the atmosphere is a page right out of yesterday. As the new management has only recently taken over, I look forward to visiting again and again and seeing even bigger and better things from Comfort & Joy.
