The doctors and staff at Pearl Optical are the BEST!!! I have always had any questions answered, they referred me for two cataract surgeries and I couldn’t recommend them enough. I have been fortunate to find frames that are stylish and sassy. The business is professional and yet personal.

I just visited the office with my Grandson to pickup his new glasses. I’m not sure what other reviews are talking about! The office personnel could not have been nicer nor more helpful. I thought about picking out a new pair for myself, unfortunately I live in Oregon which makes it inconvenient, may just have them shipped to me tho.

I have been coming here for the past several years and am pleased with their selection and service. They have many choices of designer frames (I am wearing one of their Betsey Johnson pairs right now), and will make accommodations to give their customers the lowest price possible. For me, they combined two different insurances and explained each option carefully so I was able to make educated choices.
The staff is friendly and patient. The optometrists are thorough and punctual.
I will definitely continue to be a returning customer!

STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! This place rips you off. If I can give negative star, I would. The following is all true and no lies.
My GF went in for a contact lens exam. 2 weeks back. She signed a consent for a $ 160 contact lens charge. Which is a little more expensive than usual but our insurance covers it.
We went back last weekend to do a following check up and pick up our contacts. However, here is where everything gone south. Pearl Optical ended up charging not only the $ 160, but they insisted that the doctor performed 2 other exams costing at $ 199 and $ 99. And of course, those 2 were out of pocket costs for us. My GF clearly did not consent to any other exams besides the contact lens exam, which she signed for $ 160. No one, not even the doctor, mentioned the 2 other exams to her. We gave them the benefits of the doubt and ask them what the 2 charges were. They told us that the 2 exams are required to get the BC and DIA of your eyes in order to fit the contacts. I told them that it was ridiculous that they charge $ 458, «$ 458» for a contact lens exam. They had the balls to tell my GF and I that it is normal for this charge and they dare us, oh that is what the gal working there said, «We dare you to go out and find anywhere else that charges less than us.» The above is a direct quote. I immediately called my eye doctor and guess what, they only charge $ 110 for a contact lens fitting on the spot. At this point I was furious. I told them we only signed for the $ 160 and my GF did not give any consents and were not informed of the 2 additional procedures. But there was really nothing we could do. They insisted on charging us $ 458, which our insurance covers $ 130 of the contacts lens exam, so my GF paid $ 328 total that day. Oh, that was not even include the contact lenses.
PLEASE KEEP AWAY AT ALL COSTS. They totally took advantage of my GF, even though she only signed for the $ 160 charge. On top of that, they dared us right on the spot to find somewhere that charge less. I have no clue where they are from, but $ 458 for a contact lens exam, even though she was an initial customer, is beyond ridiculous.
PEARL OPTICAL completely took advantage of us and this is the first time we are so worked up about this. I am filing a complaint with BBB as well. The above was by no way an exaggeration. STAY AWAY!!!

I have been a patient here for years and never had any issues. This past year however, I had a problem. I assumed the staff would just help me resolve my issue. Oh no, after being a loyal customer, I was treated like a nuisance. I was ignored while waiting for nearly an hour. Finally, I just got up and left. Needless to say, when I reported this treatment to Dr. Heil, he just blew me off and said if I had any issues to bring it up with my insurance. I will never go back to that again and I recommend others to stay far away.

Overall great experience! Staff was extremely friendly and professional!
I just moved to South Seattle and was looking for a quality eye care facility, not the prescriptions screw ups I’ve had in the past going to my local Costco. A coworker recommended I try Pearl Optical.
The doctor and staff were very attentive and helpful and the new frames they helped me pick out are sooooo cool!!!

been a complete disaster so far. Once we get the glasses we will update this review.
In the mean time, avoid this place!
Update:
This place completely took advantage of my wife. She simply said she wanted the new glasses to be like her old glasses. Line less bifocals and progressive tinted lenses. Instead of getting progressive tinted, they gave her the crap anti reflective coating, and then refused to do anything about it! Already at the lab, too late. My wife paid cash, so no recourse.
Avoid this place!
They do not stand behind their work.

If you like to be nickle-​and-​dimed, have products pushed on you on the hard sell, and then be bullied into a prescription for expensive products that you SAID you didn’t want, then this is the place for you. When I called to have the prescription changed to the contacts I originally wanted (which happen to be $ 15 cheaper per box), I was told I could keep my prescription or come in for a $ 75 office visit to get a new one. This is all after paying $ 150+ out of pocket for the first office visit (WHAT?!? I have great insurance so this was a shock). I have never been one to publicly review a business, but I was so upset after dealing with Dr. Heil that I had to share. I do have to add that Lisa, who works in the office, is amazing and a true professional. The office staff were sweet, and I feel sorry for them having to represent this commercial, money-​hungry business.

I love this Doctor as well as the people who helped me pick out my frames!!! No joke… people always ask me where i got my frames. I use to go to Sears, but Dr. Tam left so i went to check Pearl out!
Also about the contact fit… you pay your co-​pay up front… mine was about $ 40 and the one week check is free or included. To me it seems amazing to have the doctor check up on you… to make sure everything is fine. He told me if i wanted daily, weekly, or monthly, or kinds i sleep in all i had to do was ask! Too many options… lol…also if you live far away… and the contacts work just fine… the girls can order them over the phone and send them to you! amazing!!!

I have never been to any eye doctor that makes me try on trial lenses and come back for the prescriptions. What the heck?! I knew what I wanted and I told that doctor the ones HE wants me in are uncomfortable, but NOOOOO he always thinks he’s right. Then lied about having to see me 2x and charging me way more than any other place for an exam. Don’t go here! Its a headache.
