I have belonged to the SGI-​USA since 1988.
We were kicked out of the Shoshu organization in early 1991, for not believing in the superiority of priests over anyone else. Since then, they have tried to destroy us.
We believe that we need no intermediary in our enlightenment, and are NGO member of the United Nations.
Our teacher, Daisaku Ikeda, has actively worked on a global scale behind the scenes for world peace since @ 1960, and was high on the list of nominees for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2015.
I have met some of the kindest and most humane individuals through the SGI, since I started chanting, NAM MYOHO RENGE KYO in 1988.
Members of this Buddhist organization, have a singleminded purpose:
To become the very best person they can become, and to help others do the same.
We believe that, as more and more people achieve true, individual happiness, our communities, nations — and the entire world — will create what we all truly want: peace throughout the world.
Personally speaking, I have transformed all manner of suffering in every single aspect of my life — and, more importantly, I have become a much greater human being.
But, ultimately, it is you, yourself, who will know best, after giving it a try. :)
So I encourage you, wholeheartedly, stop by, learn the essentials of this wonderful Buddhist practice, and try it for yourself!

The SGI is an amazing Buddhist organization, focused on making positive change. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo is the main part of the practice. The members are so friendly and encouraging and very supportive. I highly recommend it!
