One thing I loved about this Abercrombie and Fitch was that the music wasn’t blaring loud like some other A&F stores(or even Hollister stores) that I’ve been to. The place was also clean and tidy, especially considering it was 5pm when I shopped there. They had quite a lot of sales that were as low as $ 6.99. I decided to go for the long-sleeved t-shirts, since I only own one of those right now. Needless to say, they have several options and it was quite difficult to choose the exact one I wanted! The cashiers and employees in general were very good. There was a cashier in training when I was in line, and the supervisor joked around with us saying he’s a wonderful human being and it was his first day on the job. I must say, for his first day on the job he did quite well!

A little disclaimer about your humble author: Up to that point in my life, I had never bought anything from Abercrombie and Fitch. This isn’t a knock against the brand’s many instances of prejudicial hiring( ), blatant anti-Asian sentiment( ) or their CEO’s insistence that he only wants thin, beautiful people to wear his clothing( ). Actually, that last point, I sort of agree with. It’s just that the clothes have always been too goddamn expensive for me to shell out my hard earned plata. I don’t mind paying decent skrill for formal clothing — as I have somewhat of a penchant for made to measure suits and evening wear and other types of clothing that befit my advanced age — but I always thought it was funny how people would pony up big bucks for A&F. But now, darkness… the tables have turned!(See 7:25 of ) Short sleeve muscle Henley’s for $ 20? Half zips with built in thumbholes for $ 17.50? At those prices, I was definitely a buyer and I snatched up these items with aplomb. Unfortunately for me, half of the Chinese population in the greater Washington State area was on the same wavelength as me. Consequently, the store was just straight decimated by members of the middle kingdom coming down like a swarm of locusts and consuming everything in sight. Honestly, I was lucky enough to get away with the two aforementioned items; everything else that was on the shelves was either laughably ugly or just plain useless. Boy shorts swimwear for men? I know it has the word«boy» in the description, but with reactionary anti-gay activism the way it is, I don’t think I’d be comfortable wearing that shit out anywhere but Castro, West Hollywood and maybe certain parts of Miami Beach. Admittedly, at $ 8 a pair, it was pretty good pricing though, I have to say. Customer service was practically nil, lines for the four changing rooms were extremely long and the entire experience felt like I was in a Moroccan souq… but come on man, these are outlet prices for surprisingly high quality clothing.
