Everything at Hazel’s is awesome… including the service! It’s really nice when they are baking homemade brownies!

We found this on Unilocal while travelling. Delicious, interesting sandwiches in a classic old house. The young man owner, who we understand was formerly a waiter here, does a great job with good food and good service. A nice fast food alternative!

A gem of a restaurant in a charming setting. We had the vegetarian on focaccia bread with tomato basil soup! Yum! We will definitely be going back!

I love hazels! I always get the full vegetarian sandwich with the side salad. the balsamic dressing is my favorite, but they have other great options. the ambiance is what makes this place what it is. anywhere you sit is great! favorite spot for lunch in Tulare!

This old house is such a cute place for lunch. I especially enjoy dining outside when the weather is mild. The vegetarian sandwich on honey wheat bread is so fresh and the side salad with house dressing is the perfect accompaniment. A couple of times the service has been a little slow but nothing too bad. I will continue to join my friends here to enjoy the quaint atmosphere.

Food and service are excellent. I usually call in and the food is always ready when they say it will be. Simple menu — excellent quality. Everything is fresh and the people that work there are very friendly. Great small local restaurant. Tulare does not usually do a good enough job of supporting the non-chain restaurants but I am happy to see this place is usually busy.

Hours are 92 lunch is so delicious, it’s like a tea time setting, it’s in a Victorian house you can eat outside or inside

I went here to try it and I was somewhat impressed. The service was amazing. The food was alright. My ham & turkey sandwich was pretty good. my friends chicken salad sandwich did not have enough chicken salad mix. For desert we ordered a chocolate chip cookie and a Browne. The Browne was amazing but the cookie was not very good. I would try it again, just hope it is a little better than last time.

Love this place! Good sandwiches and the best angel hair pasta I’ve ever had! They also have really good cookies. Great atmosphere whether eating inside or out. Everyone who works there is very nice.

Very delicious sandwiches. I like that I can have a good lunch in a beautiful garden and be served fairly quick.

I walked into Hazel’s Kitchen and it took me back to the visits I made to my great grandma as a kid. I ordered the chicken sandwich with a side salad. The sandwich was really good and fresh. I asked for the famous 1000 island sauce on my salad and want too impressed. It was extremely thick like a relish and didn’t spread well. There was definitely an older crowd during lunch.

I love it! Finally got my husband to have lunch with me and he enjoyed it! It’s the only place I go for a French dip! Meat sliced thin, bread great!!!

I usually LOVE this place but the last 2 times I have gone I haven’t been impressed, especially for the price. And I finally must add that the old lady server has GOT to go! She’s not very friendly and doesn’t follow server rules. She acts more like you’re a family member who should speak up if you need something rather than checking in you.

I threw a baby shower for my sister on a Saturday afternoon. They were happy to open for the private party. I’m living in San Francisco so I had to coordinate everything long distance which was handled smoothly. The food was delish!!! I couldn’t get enough of the chicken salad sandwich and their angel hair pasta! To top things off we had a choice of red velvet cupcake, birthday cake cupcake, and chocolate cupcake to choose from! My fave was birthday cake cupcake but everyone else loved red velvet. Excellent service from Denise! She served a bunch of hungry women and was so good! She was really attentive and sweet! She was also very accommodating and professional. But where was the guy I spoke to on the phone? Can’t even remember his name? Would have been nice to see the person I sent my money to. Overall, a really cute sandwich shop.

I came up to visit my aunt, and the first place she took me was Hazel’s Kitchen for lunch. She said it was a must for my visit. Food We both had salads. My aunt ordered the ‘Chicken Salad’ salad and I ordered the Chef Salad(topped with thinly shaved turkey and ham, and bite sized cheese). Both were generous portions, made with super fresh greens and veggies(asked if they were locally grown, but they weren’t sure). The chicken salad was amazing, with apple slices large enough to see, but not a giant cube like some people serve– had just the right amount of mayo, not to dry, not too mushy. The homemade dressings are amazing and full of flavor. Service The service was quick– our server was an older woman with a big smile and a great attitude. She made us feel like we were at home Atmosphere I love the décor and atmosphere of this place. Feels like you’re at home or having lunch at your grandma’s house. A perfect place to relax and enjoy a good, fresh lunch.

Stopped in to give this place a try when I was in town for business. Noticed the Aero Hotdog place is literally right across the street from Hazel’s. The place is small but with plenty of space upstairs and down. I was seated promptly and my drink order filled in what can only be described as a «speedy» fashion. Ordered the Ham & Bacon club with the basil focaccia bread and a green salad w/vinaigrette dressing. Excellent on all of the above! Prices were reasonable but lunch ended up costing me about $ 13 with a drink and the tip. Not exactly cheap but not bad considering it’s a sit down and relax kind of place. As far as eateries in Tulare go… this is the best I’ve found for casual lunch. I’ll be back and next time I’m trying one of the delicious looking cookies they had in a jar.

Adorable little café that takes up residence in the bottom floor of a house from the early 1900’s. The sandwiches are amazing — try the teriyaki chicken on the portuguese roll. These rolls are made fresh daily and delivered from a bakery nearby.

We found ourselves on the south side of Tulare not close to any known eatery. Unilocal led us to Hazel’s Kitchen … a unique lunch place transformed from an old haunted house … so the legend goes. Mary is the name of the wonderful woman who served us a delicious lunch. My wife and I shared the red pepper chicken sandwich on rye. Potatoe salad was fresh, good texture, mild. Coffee served in a large mug. Excellent. Fresh home baked cookies topped off a terrific meal. We dined on the porch … a throw back to grandma’s place.

I just can’t get over how amazing their house vinaigrette salad dressing is. A side salad with half a red pepper chicken sammich is my tried and true lunch here. I arrived 8 minutes before closing at 2pm yesterday, and they served my lunch up without any hesitation. LOVE!
