Well the meat department has a really funky smell and there are large amounts of flies. The meat doesn’t look very fresh. I rarely shop there but once in a GREAT while they might have a good coupon in the paper.

Been here several times to grab a few things. okay let’s start with parking it’s always full once in the store things seem a little unorganized but produce is good. the bakery section is over crowded and the sweet bread area looks dirty. the meat section has a wide selection just wish more of the employees spoke English but i manage to communicate. All in all store is not bad. oh almost forgot about cashiers and checkout process. There’s never enough cashiers and gotta bag your own groceries. It’s odd to be on same side of cashiers when checking out. i still shop here because it’s the nearest store to me.

This place is horrible! Don’t buy their store brand«Palace Depot» the owner uses brand name items and sells it in different packaging and advertise it as a product made it in the store. It’s suppose to save you money, but they’re overpriced. Flies are all over this place and I’ve always seen couple of them in the pan dulce section. The workers don’t even know where things are nor do they know what certain items are called. Some of them don’t speak any English, and very difficult to receive help. I will never shop at this store again!

If Palace Food Depot were located anywhere but Tulare it would never be my first option for food shopping. Considering the lack of quality grocery stores in this area, Palace is your best option for a wide selection of brands at cheap prices. The building has a nondescript exterior and a warehouse interior. Its convenient location in the middle of an area of town that is lacking in quality grocery stores makes it the default, go-to spot. They don’t do much of anything to market themselves or up their image, but they really don’t have to. I imagine their motto to be «if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.»

I grew up next to the former location(and current location) of this wonderful grocery store. This place is reasonably priced and carries a wide selection of food and many other household items. The fruits and vegetables are as fresh as those found at a farmer’s market. The warehouse style may appeal to some and not so much to others but I can tell it is because they know that their customers are very sensitive to price hence the not-so-fancy décor. I am cool with that. I still manage to come here whenever I visit from Boston and fill up at their gas station where you are given a discount if you carry their gas card. A nice little perk for the loyal customer. Minus one star for their lack of innovative ways to attract new customers. I see places like WinCo and Vallarta coming to the area that offer many things that the Food Depot does not, which will pull customers away from there. Palace Food Depot… thanks for all the food since I moved to the west side of Tulare in 1989.

Aww I love the greasy takeout. Corndogs, fried chicken, and other various greasy goodies. It’s warehouse sized so be prepared to walk around. And guess what, you have to bag your own groceries… whhhha whaa. They have a good wide selection that we lack in the Bay Area.
