It’s rare for the youth of today to have some decent outdoor facilities. Tulare, despite needing some desperate infrastructure upgrades in general, seems to have gotten something right when it comes to this sprawling complex complete with at least six ball fields. I usually come to watch my wife’s nephews. It’s a great joy to see these once-little tykes grow into their bats and start knocking them toward the fences. As a spectator, you can usually find some shade beneath the trees lining the fences, but be sure to bring your own seating as the actual bleachers fill up. Here, more than most places, it seems like people come out in droves to watch the kids, which really shows some great community support. There are some improvements that can be made to the field and it can be quite distracting when the train rolls through every hour or so, but overall these kids have it made. Baseball is alive and well in Tulare.

Tulare Little League Park is well manicured and well attended when the weather is warm and the boys of summer are ready to play. From the wee tee-ballers to the 10 – 12 age teams with focus and ferocity in their eyes, these kids are having a blast. And so are the gobs of family members rooting and hollering for their big boys. There are at least 5 fields so there are multiple games at play. «Heads UP!» shouts should not be taken lightly. The concession stand is manned by some quick and quirky parents ready to push $ 2 Gatorades, snow cones and bags of sunflower seeds. There are grandstands at each field for both the home and visitor sections, but your best bet is to bring your own fold out chair and umbrella because it gets hot in Tulare even at 9 a.m. I so enjoy watching my nephews play here. Its big time for these little leaguers! GOOOOOO Giants!
