In Tullahoma for a funeral, my siblings and I took on the responsibility of feeding our extended family after the service. Whitt’s was one of several restaurants that came up in an Internet search, and it was close to our hotel. We went in and met the manager, Kevin, who gave us the details on their catering plans, and explained options instead of or in addition to the catering. He was extremely polite and helpful and seemed very eager to help us feed our family. We drove around a bit and passed a few of the other options, but we had a really strong, good feeling about Whitt’s, so we went back and ordered the Catering Pack 15, which feeds 15 people with BBQ pork, buns, 2 sides, a gallon of tea, and all the flatware and paper goods, for a price that worked out to $ 5.99 per person, plus tax. We also threw in 2 full slabs of ribs and 2 more sides for approximately 50 dollars more. We asked if we could dine in their small dining room, and were assured that it was no problem. All Kevin asked of us was that we allow him at least three hours to prepare everything and have it ready for us when we came back after the service. We arrived approximately 10 minutes past the time we asked to have it all ready, and it was all there, hot and ready for us! Kevin was still there handling everything, and wearing a t-shirt that read, «I LOVEBBQ.» Despite still serving his regular customers, he had rearranged the tables into two longer sections to accommodate our 15 people. The pork was delicious, the buns and rolls were incredibly fresh and moist, the beans, the potato salad and the cole slaw were great, but the ribs were absolutely outstanding! Knowing that we had 15 or more people coming in, he had cut the slabs into the individual ribs, and they were fall-off-the-bone fantastic! The two sauces(one a thicker sauce, the other vinegar based) were spicy and flavorful without being hot, which is good when you have many different palates to please. Kevin and the staff of Whitt’s could not have been more courteous and kind, nor more focused on taking care of our appetites, and bringing our day of mourning to a pleasant end. Every day brings you to choices. Some of them ultimately turn out to be poor choices. But if you’re in Tullahoma, Tennessee, and you’re trying to decide where to go for excellent BBQ, Whitt’s(and Kevin!) is the best choice you could possibly make.

I went through the drive-thru today at the Tullahoma location and the women working was beyond rude! I’ve been here one other time before and she was rude then too, I thought maybe she was just having a bad day. Well today I realized everyday must be a bad day for her! Maybe she’s in need of more drugs(looked cracked out) or a different profession. But, because of the way I’ve been treated the past two times I’ve been here, I WON’T be going back!

Whitts was recommended by the hotel staff where we were staying. Being«out of staters» we were not quite sure what to expect. The restaurant is in an older brick building and has a «drive thru» window. We were looking for a «sit down» more formal restaurant and I wanted a cocktail. Well, we found out that we were in a «DRY» county and most places actually close at 3pm. This is a good case for«not judging a book by it’s cover.» Once inside, we discovered they are recognized as one of the Nashville areas top restaurants. We were also pleased to find Whitt’s is open later than most and the food is delicious! The ribs are dry rubbed and just fall off the bone. They are so good, my son ate a «half slab» and then ordered a second one! I had the BBQ pork, also tender and delicious. The«sides» are very tasty and the homemade«slaw» is made fresh daily. The Pecan and Chess pies are made fresh daily as well. The owner is super friendly and came out of the kitchen to chat with us. Overall, a great experience, local or not… Whitts will not disappoint. On a side note; the people we met in Tuallhoma were warm, friendly and we were made to feel right at home.

Ate here this past Saturday and it was ok. I enjoy stuffed potatoes, but this one was a little over baked(although I didn’t know that was possible before). The pulled pork in the potato didn’t have much flavor, but was better with some salt. Overall, just ok. The price was good though.

Good local place, being from Texas my definition of BBQ and this regions is different. Beef was shredded, potato salad was plus, baked beans were neutral. Prices were especially good, service was also great. I will definitely stop again probably try the ribs. Pork sandwich is probably what I should have ordered. This is award winning barbeque so stop if you’re in town.

I have to say Pulled Pork is one of my favorites to eat. Being in the South, BBQ is where it’s at so when we had the chance to go to Whitt’s BBQ, I was more than happy to oblige. I think their BBQ sauce it delicious. It compliments the pork well. The potato salad and baked beans were extremely yummy. I would have eaten more but there are other people here. I wanted to make sure I didn’t hog the food! Haha. Anyways, Whitt’s BBQ is a great place to go when you don’t know what to make or don’t have the time to cook. For four adults, we spent $ 17 and we had leftovers for when we get the craving for a pulled pork sandwich.
