My wife and I came here for an evening event, a showcase for a local dance studio that one of our friends was performing in. Aside from the crowd for that show and the employees in the cafeteria doing clean up, the place was empty. I’ve always considered the University of Tulsa campus to be a beautiful place.(Recent construction has improved things even more.) This seems to be one of the older buildings but is still in good shape. It was somewhat difficult to navigate and could do with clearer signage to direct visitors. And the bathroom I used was dirty. Think overflowing trash cans, empty soap dispensers, faucets not working or alternately running without stopping, and — the worst — sticky floors.

ACAC is great during the day — there’s not much going on in the evenings. During the school year, a lot of people study in the lounges(there are vending machines, large tables, etc.) because it’s fairly quiet but not too sterile like the library. During the day there is a mini-cafeteria, an Italian restaurant, a smoothie bar, and a few other options. All day, and into the evening, both Subway and Hurricane Hut are open. These establishments have their own pages on Unilocal. They close at 11 pm, so there’s not much going on here late. I’ve attended several conferences in the rooms upstairs and they’re as good as any. They’ve got small rooms(for events for perhaps 20 people) that can be expanded to a large ballroom. The catering is way above par for a University — the food is very good(and especially the desserts.) Finally, the bookstore is worth checking out. They have lots of TU stuff. It’s not cheap, but occasionally they’ll have good deals. Over the tax-free weekend I bought a decent amount to prepare for football season. Their staff is very friendly and understanding — my professors have changed books many times over my TU career. Overall, I really like everyone I’ve met who works here and it’s a pretty decent place to hang out.
