This is a really fun bar. The bartenders are all really nice and the clientele will make you feel wanted. They have drag shows on Sunday nights, but I usually spend my time out on the patio to get away from the cigarette smoke. That’s really the only thing that keeps me from giving them five stars. The smokers should be outside and the air inside should stay clean. Even with the smoke, though, it’s a fun place and one that is definitely worth checking out. You won’t find pretentious attitude here. Just gay men and women(mostly men or men dressed like women) hanging out and having a good time. Check it out and you’ll probably come back.

Totally remodeled inside. New dance floor. All new tables and chairs and a redone patio. A lot cooler place to hang out than it used to be. The staff is great. There is some kind of show going on most every night of the week from drag shows, comedy nights, karaōke to benefits and fundraisers for local gay groups and organizations. The crowd varies and I always see friends when I go here but also lots of new faces.

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. Great drinks and Tommy the bartender was super friendly and nice to chat with. Tommy filled us in on the long history of the bar. Not the fanciest place you will ever enter, but lots of character. Would have definitely gone back if we had the time.

Bamboo Lounge is one of the oldest, if not THE oldest, gay bar in Tulsa. The crowd is mostly men, however, a few women do come in from time to time. While the guys who come here are generally in their late 30’s to early 60’s, they’re very friendly and totally not creepy. The bar is old and dated. A small, mirror lined dancefloor is about all you get here. They have a jukebox, one pool table, a small covered patio and a LCDTV(usually tuned to CNN). They have karaōke on Monday and Wednesday nights, beginning at 10:00pm, and it’s usually not too crowded. The staff are very friendly, and they know how to pour a drink. Bamboo reminds me, personally, of a queer Cheer’s. If you can get by the dated look, the questionable area and the age of the patrons, you’ll find that the place is very friendly and welcoming. They don’t accept Credit Cards, but they do have an ATM on site.
