We love this restaurant! We had our son’s rehearsal dinner there for 90 guests, and everything was amazing! Molly and the staff were very easy to work with, and the fajita buffet was perfect for us. I highly recommend them, but especially great for important occasions.

I ate the portobello sandwich with steamed veggies. The vegetables were perfectly cooked with slight crispness yet soft with a high flavor profile. The sandwich itself was great but interesting. Very original with the combo of the ingredients. There was cucumber, portobello mushroom caps, red bell pepper, and sprouts. All were excellently steamed/sautéed. I had them take off the olive cream cheese topping due to personal decisions but I suspect it would be great. The bun itself was very lightly toasted if not just warmed and was on the smaller size for my taste, but overall a good wheat bun that did have that earthy taste. The waitress was very kind and polite and was striving to make sure we were well taken care of. We only drank water but we were never without for any time period. The lemon in the water had a very fresh sweet taste compared to the normal lemon at moat restaurants. I decided to opt for having desert since dinner was good. I choose the lemon pie with the graham cracker crust with pecans. I apparently did not intrepid the menu correctly I assumed similar to a lemon bar with a crust. I was very wrong. It was a lime/lemon citrus cream pie that had a strong lime flavor syrup drizzled on top. Now for what it was it was good with a good balance of citrus tart and sweetness. I was not prepared for it and therefore felt disappointed upon not receiving a lemon bar like dessert. Atmosphere was good with dim but adequate lighting and non distracting décor. There was a small handfuls of tv but I don’t remember hearing them which I think is great. I like this place and would recommend this place for a nice dinner if you are wanting casual/nice, burgers/sandwiches/salad/soups. Will I absolutely remember it next time I’m here and have to stop, probably not.

We we here because it was close to our hotel and we were in a hurry. Mistake! The service was really slow. Our drinks took about 10 minutes. The waitress kept saying that she was waiting on the bartender. Our table was uneven so we had to be careful to not lean on it. The food selection was good. However it’s not all that great. It’s not bad, just ok. The waitress gave us an empty ketchup bottle and my boyfriend had to get another one from the bar because she didn’t come back to the table and we never saw her to ask for another one. It took forever to get our check. I would try another place if I were you.

My organization and I picked this place one night to eat because it was in walking distance of our hotel and we were just in town for a few days. I ordered beef faijitas and they were delicious and so were the veggies that come along with it! However, I’m almost 100% sure the Spanish rice is uncle bens 90 second pouch rice that I survive off of being a college student. So needless to say, it was pretty bland. The black beans had the texture of beans that had been reheated over and over in a microwave. The rest of my org was not impressed at all with their food. One person ordered the salmon sandwich and it wasn’t cooked all the way and still somewhat frozen in the middle… she didn’t even keep eating the rest of her food. And another girl ordered the chicken quesidillas that came out cold and bland. The service is definitely not its best attribute. The employees stand in this big circle by the bar and talk and you have to glance over at them several times before they wait on you.

Arrived in Tulsa late due to flight delays I was happy to find Baxter’s open. I ordered the half rack of ribs with beans and Cole slaw the food was great beans were out if this world nice sweet and tasty the ribs were good as well they could have had more meat. The drinks were totally under poured the Long Island was the weakest one I have ever had so I asked for a shot of patron and the waitress came back to the table empty handed and stated they were out of patron. Good food for the price I won’t return because of the drinks under poured.

This place has so much potential. It’s large, comfortable seating, decent patio area and an extensive menu. Service was sub-par: they were out of several items I attempted to order and there was no attempt to offer a suggested alternative and we often had to flag down our server for refills, etc. even though the restaurant was not particularly busy. The food was mediocre– my friend and I each got salads and split a few appetizers. Not terrible but not fantastic.

Best steak I’ve had in a long time. The sirloin melted like butter. All the other orders came out very well also

This was yet one more find on our out of town trip to Tulsa. If we would have had access to a car we probably would have never tried but I am glad we did. I had a Chicken Parmesan salad and it was awesome. The chicken was very light and was not greasy at all! The service was super friendly and they waited on us very quickly. I can say I will be back next time I am in Tulsa for work or any other event!

House chips were well seasoned and crisp. Not impressed with the Spinach Salad, chicken was cubed and odd color. Honey mustard dressing not a good compliment. Enchiladas were so so. Waitress not attentive to refills. «Mints» at the door were awful — coconut flavor???

Baxter’s Interurban is «Our Neighborhood Restaurant» and we are thrilled to have Craig Baxter’s fine establishment as a part of our«Home Away From Home.» His staff is like a part of the family, and the menu has been excellent for years! I would suggest the Filet Mignon with Broccoli and a Caesar Salad. A piece of Leon’s Chocolate Truffle Cake is the best in Tulsa! Whether you go in for lunch or dinner, you will notice that a lot of people seem to know the staff. That is because, like me, they are regulars, and have made Baxter’s a part of their weekly ritual. The excellent atmosphere, the staff that has become our friends, and the OUTSTANDINGFOOD… WHYGOANYPLACEELSE? THINK«CHEERS» where everybody knows your name. For those who are trying Baxter’s for the first time, I bet it will not be your last visit!

This place is okay. I enjoyed my Ruben but my wife’s burger was not good. It was edible, but not good. I cant figure out the niche this place is trying to accomplish. It’s like a mix between an TGIFridays and an office space. Either the owner or manager was walking around making sure that customers who were not happy with there order were satisfied with the final product they received. That is great, but just try to get it right the first time. I imagine this place will only survive because of it’s close proximity to the BOK

I saw some of the reviews on this spot & no one seemed pleased. Maybe they caught it on a bad day/night because what I had, was INCREDIBLE!!! I ordered the New Orleans Orange Roughy, it was perfection. The filet sat on a bed of rice & asparagus with a tasty chipotle aioli. The components complimented each other to perfection. So, once again, maybe they caught this place on a bad day/night because my dinner was phenomenal.

Not so sure WTF«interurban» means but maybe it means dark bar with funny odor when you walk in, and lots of fake plants. Food was not bad, ordered a salad and the greens were nice and fresh, chicken was battered though, not grilled so be sure to be specific when you order. The house garlic vinaigrette was a very delightful surprise — clearly freshly made with fresh garlic. Bread, unfortunately was hard as a rock. But — service was prompt and a salad and beer was only $ 8.00 — less than the cost of a lemonade at the Doubletree around the corner where I stayed. For $ 8.00 it did the job, but didn’t leave me dying to return.

Your generic TGIF/Chili’s-type restaurant and bar. If you are within walking distance, it’s probably one of the better options for lunch unless you get in your car to drive elsewhere. I went with the soup and sandwich combo. The ham and cheese soup was a bit saltier than for my liking, but it was fine. The smoked turkey and swiss on wheat berry sandwich was fine as well. The tea was fine. The service was fine. So, fine.

I’m pretty easy to please, so I would be willing to give this place another shot during the weekend. but man, skip it on a weeknight if you are looking for some fun. I saw on Unilocal the place was open until 10pm, but we didn’t arrive until 7:30 pm. By 8:15 all the chairs were up on the tables and we were the only table in the entire place. Even still, the service was slooow. The sour cream enchiladas got rave reviews from my co-workers, but the vegetarian options were slim. I went with the portobello burger and it was just okay. I left most of it on my plate. I had cheese fries as the side and wasn’t even really impressed with those. The cheese was hardened on and I had to use ketchup to make them a bit less dry. I did like that they had Route 66 beers on tap, but at $ 4.25 for a pour, the prices weren’t generous enough to make up for the lack of, well, everything. Again, it might be more lively on a weekend or if we could enjoy the patio. but the time being I’d pass.

Baxter’s has an interesting location in downtown. Some could say this is a weakness, but I consider this it’s biggest strength. It’s away from the hubbub of the Blue Dome and Brady Districts, close to BOK, the Tulsa Convention Center, as well as right next door the the Doubletree. Baxter’s has a great atmosphere; quiet and dark. Perfect. There’s a large meeting room with it’s own bar, that’s perfect for business lunches/dinners, etc. I’m a big fan of their patio– which is a great little downtown secret. The food is good, and the show-stealer is the burgers and sandwiches. The Honey Pepper Bacon Burger is the real star of the show. They run a $ 6 burger deal on Monday, and is a great choice for lunch. Also nightly, are rotating appetizer specials during the week. The Buffalo Chicken Strips are highly recommended. The service is good, especially with the seasoned servers. Always cool, conversational, and adept. It’s a pleasure to dine at baxter’s, or to even just hang out at their bar. Baxter’s used to be well-known, The Interurban, back in the 80’s. The tradition continues since Baxter bought it. He’s very hands on, always around, and is great to chat with.

Service at Baxter’s interurban grill was excellent. They easily accommodated our group during their busy lunch hour. Food was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant. Very nice place to eat.

This is the only restaurant in close walking distance to the Doubletree that I was forced to shack up in for two nights last week. Baxter’s is leaps and bounds better than the hotel restaurant, so three stars are definitely warranted, maybe even four, considering the circumstances. The décor was dark. Think Houlihan’s, circa 1995. The music was really bad. I heard Robert Palmer’s «Some Like It Hot»(and, FML, it’s STILL in my head) and other hits from the 80s during my tenure at the bar. The employees were nice. I chatted with the bartender who was a friend of a friend of a guy who was drafted to the Eagles this year. I’m pretty sure the locally grown/organic wave hasn’t hit the Midwest yet. My intentions of eating clean went straight out the window when I realized I would have to eliminate at least three toppings on any given salad I ordered. Since salads were the only menu items that included vegetables, I ordered the buffalo chicken salad, with dressing on the side and an extra cup of hot sauce to drizzle over the greens in place of some of the dressing. It was damn good, and I didn’t feel as guilty as I expected after eating it. I washed it down with three light beers while watching part of the World Series game, and my bill total was only sixteen dollars and change. The moral of this story is, do not go to Tulsa… but if you absolutely must, Baxter’s will sustain you.
