Coney Islander… Why don’t you have French fries? Why have I only in the couple times I have been here my coney hasn’t been hot but rather ‘almost warm.’ Why when I took one home to heat up more turned hard as a rock? Until I hear about some of these remedies, I won’t know what to do with my thoughts on this Tulsa staple but keep it at 2 stars. Ps– your staff is really nice!

Doesn’t matter location one you go to, they’re all golden. Nothing fancy, juuuust right. I go as often as I can when I’m in Tulsa. OKC doesn’t have anything comparable, in my opinion. Coney I-Lander is the business!!!

I can’t come to Tulsa without getting a few coneys! Don’t get a phoney coney. :-) It hasn’t changed since I was a kid and that’s why I keep coming back. Nom Nom Nom

Oklahoma’s only redeeming quality and it’s a damn good one. This location has the best coney’s, IMO. I can knock down 5 easily, they’re so good.

What more can I say about Coney I-Lander coneys that hasn’t already been said? They’re quite simply the best tasting hot dogs that I’ve ever had with no exception. My wife disagrees. The last time we came here together she took one bite of her Frito pie and said, «remind me next time that I don’t like their chili.» It took everything in me to not call a divorce lawyer then and there. The one downside of this location is that it’s always way too cold inside, no matter what time of day/year. Otherwise it’s conveniently located on Brookside, clean, and staffed with very friendly employees.

BESTCONEYSINTHEWORLD!!! Grew up on these, then moved to southern Alabama(and went into permanent withdrawals). Make it back once a year to visit family and ALWAYS visit to get our yearly fix! They are Soooo Good:)

Yum yum in my tum tum. The perfect size hot dog with amazing chili that isn’t watery or runny and doesn’t kill the bun if you get them to go and eat them at home.

One star!?! Why so rude? I know this place is a Tulsa staple but I just can’t handle the Inslander. I love hot dogs as much as the next guy but this place always makes me feel sick about two minutes after finishing my meal.

Absolutely the best coneys. It’s a semi-recent discovery for me(maybe 4 years). The steamed buns, sweet chili, and fine shredded cheese make for a satisfying meal. They are small, but two fills me up. And at less than $ 1.50 each, it’s a pretty good deal. Don’t forget the cayenne.

My husband likes this place, so I decided to try it today for lunch. I didn’t mind that the coneys were small, I just got two with some chips. However, the coneys were bland. All the ingredients should make this an easy hit, but it’s not. The chili was something I could find in a can. It needs some serious seasoning. I also thought it was strange and unappetizing that they put shredded cheese on top and it never melts. I mean, I love cheese… but it needs to melt on a coney. I don’t see the draw to this place. I’ll never go back.

Sorry guys, I guess I didn’t grow up on this so it doesn’t hold a special place in my heart. It really lacked flavor for me. aaaand that doesn’t make sense because it’s a hot dog, chili, onions, and CHEESE! All of those are amazing, especially put together! but no thank you… quite bland…

Dang, I love me some Coney I-Lander! Don’t be confused by the many other places that have the same sounding name. They don’t have the sign with the mixed up letters and they don’t have the best coneys. I have been going here since I was a little one. So, it’s possible I’m just hooked because it’s what I know, but I don’t thinks so. Their cheese coney’s have the same flavor they have always had. Amazing! If you are wanting coney’s, then this is the place.

Today’s lunch was fighting my childhood memories, as I’ve been back in Tulsa over 15 years and I think I’ve only been one other time. The people that work there are GREAT. You’ll rarely find a friendlier group. The food itself doesn’t quite live up to my memories. I seem to recall steamed buns that were impossibly soft. These weren’t hard, but they didn’t have the«chewing is almost optional» experience I was expecting. Also, I was surprised that it needed some heat. Maybe I’m getting old, but I seem to recall these things never needed a boost of anything. Fortunately, I remembered Paul P’s suggestion to sprinkle some of that cayenne pepper on it(which is not something I would have tried) and it seemed to fill in the flavor gaps nicely(although now I’m eating yogurt because the cayenne is burning my mouth!). So, it’s three stars for food, five stars for staff. I’m not disappointed that I went, but I’m curious to try other coney places in Tulsa to see how they compare.

Chili could be a bit better, but you’re never going to go wrong with this Tulsa staple(I mean how can you pass up a fast food hot dog stand with a fireplace in the middle of the joint).

Best coneys on the planet. You haven’t had a coney until you’ve had one here.

I want a coney for my honeeey… I used to date a lady who could really suck these puppies down so within that context I enjoyed a trip to the I-LAND. The hotdog is one of those foods that varies by region in some ways similar to BBQ. I’m a Georgia boy who moved to Carolina and then Oklahoma. I’ve eaten less BBQ and hotdogs since moving to Oklahoma than any other food group. I’ve tried to really get excited about eating a coney but I prefer the«scrambled dogs» of Georgia or the chilli and slaw dogs of Carolina. I recently learned that Coney I-lander is a native of Tulsa and a true tradition rather than a Yankee Franchise. Even when armed with that incentive I’m able to drive by and let the dogs bark on.

The perfect coney. Mustard, Chili, Cheese and Onion for me please. The chili is not runny. It stays perfectly on the bun. Cheese is finely grated. Add some cayenne pepper on top and you have the perfect dog. These haven’t changed in over 30 years. Thank you Coney Island!
