First Friday is so fun! I love how much downtown has grown. It Is awesome to see so many people enjoying the city. We usually stop by Glacier, the glassblowing studio, then wonder through the museums and galleries. There is always something interesting and different to see. Also, sometimes there are performances at Guthrie Green! The whole family can enjoy the night!

Being 4 years late to party, I guess it’s better late than never. With this being in Brady Arts District, it only makes sense. With multiple art galleries, live music &(of course) restaurants, you can’t go wrong with this event every first Friday of the month.

A little late on this review, however.. . The 100th Art Crawl was awesome! Hubby & I go every month. But I’ve never seen so many people enjoying downtown & the offerings of our art galleries there. Was it the«Busker» atmosphere that drew so many? It was heartwarming to see everyone and such a mix: a cross dresser and George Kaiser in the same crowd. Performers everywhere! Awesome. We love that Living Arts always has new exhibits(hubby’s favorite) to enjoy, discuss. Often you can meet/talk to the artists. At this event I met & talked to the artist(sorry, name forgotten) who had built«a telephone booth to the other side». Her grandmother had recently passed and it was a tribute to her. Incredible, insightful, inspiring, beautiful, thought-provoking. All the reasons we go. Contemporary 108 offers inspiring exhibits as well as AhHa, Philbrook, Zarrow Center & others. We go early to try new restaurants. However, if you hit the galleries early on, you cannot imagine the amounts of food I’ve seen offered, if you’re into noshing/critiquing.(AhHa, 108, Living Arts, Zarrow) Some spreads are quite gorgeous. Usually catered, I’ve asked & they do a great job. We eat, then I drink/enjoy/critique. You can buy beverages at Zarrow & Living Arts. I haven’t gotten«official» word, but Tulsa seems to be okay with walking from gallery to gallery, beverage in tow. Unofficially, I’ve been told it’s okay, as it should be. Y’all oughta come out EVERY month! Let’s keep up the momentum!

This event is part of the campaign to revitalize downtown Tulsa and it’s doing well. Starting at Elgin and moving down Brady to Main and north on Main, the First Friday Art Crawl has all the businesses in the area as well as an increasing number of street vendors opening their doors from 6−9pm for every one to come by and see what they have going. Whether it’s glass blowing or chocolate making there is plenty for everyone to see craftwise. Living Arts opens their doors as do all the other little galleries along the street. There are plenty of places to eat and bars to get an evening libation. It’s the first friday of the month.
