I have eaten here a few times and the food is usually good and fresh. The service can be hit or miss, but was really good on this visit. The waiter brought us fresh bread whole we were waiting on our food. That may have been the best part of my meal. It was baked with sunflower seeds and came out warm. I ordered the chicken salad plate. The chicken salad was really good. The quinoa tabouli that came with it wasn’t very flavorful, but seemed to be freshly made. The fruit was good, but I prefer when fresh fruit sides aren’t loaded down with melon, as this one was. I will definitely be back, but I’ll order something different next time.

Very good food although ours arrived warm not hot. The server was in his last week of class and he should not be a server. Limited personality but nice. You could tell this was a stint not a choice. We would go again and try dinner

I have been for dinner about 5 – 6 times in the past year. Always excellent!

Ducked out of work to go here for a business lunch. Tried to order a beer with my steak, got carded. Had left my wallet with ID behind(colleague was picking up the check). Muttered, and I quote, «dammit» out of hungry frustration and ordered a water. 5 minutes later, some old lady comes and scolds me for several moments for having bruised the tender ears of her waitstaff, and demands that I apologize to the server, despite the phrase having been directed at no one in particular. I was ready to walk out immediately, but to save face I apologized in front of a large group(who certainly had no idea what the issue was) and decided that never returning to this place would be my expression of displeasure. The steak was overcooked and cold by the time it reached me.

I’ve been here a couple times. It’s been awhile and can’t remember everything I’ve tried. I was really impressed with an appetizer they had. It was a deep fried avocado that was almond crusted, with goat cheese. Freaking amazing… the first time I had it. Second time still good but not great. I can’t remember any entrée or anything else. So it probably wasn’t great.

If you recognize the place for what it is — a culinary school — it is the best deal for lunch in town. On occasion something may not be up to par but if so just speak up. That’s what they want to hear! Julie(day time instructor) loves all the feedback, good, bad and ugly. Mostly it’s all good! The fried avocado app is the best, don’t miss it!

I was very pleased with my Foundations experience. I spent a full half day here with several co-workers after we learned that they have a conference room available for meetings. This was a great idea and a great excuse to get away from the office for a while to focus(and enjoy some great food). When we arrived, we were able to purchase breakfast at $ 3/person. They feature one item each day, and on this day it was biscuits and gravy – yum! Since they had held orientation that day for some new students, they also threw in some freebies – scrambled eggs and some sweet pecan rolls(which were amazing!) and even bottled waters. That was super nice of them but probably not a regular thing. We had previously made a reservation for our group to have lunch after our morning meeting. This was definitely a good idea because their Friday buffet lunch was very popular! We were getting worried as we saw through our meeting room window a couple of vans dropping off guests at the door. Although there were folks waiting for tables when we were ready to eat around noon, we were still seated right away at our reserved table. The menu that day was barbecue, and it was awesome. They offered a couple of cold salad options, but the real star was the meat! They had bbq chicken, ribs, brisket, and fish. I was surprised how much I liked the bbq chicken, which was lightly fried(though not breaded) and really moist. The brisket was also smoky and delicious. Add to all this an assortment of desserts, and you’re getting an awesome value for only $ 9! The staff were all very friendly and helpful as far as helping us throughout the day. I hope we have another office retreat here soon, and I will definitely go back to try the rest of their menu.

Hired them for an event and by the time we are the food was like warm. It wasn’t even that great of a dish. Subpar at best, the dinner rolls and herb butter was the only thing anyone enjoyed. To top it off when we went to pay, the chef treated me so rudely. I’m trying to pay the man and he acts as if I’m below him. I’m sorry sir, but last time checked I was paying you and you’re a teacher… A cooking teacher. Don’t need to get all high and mighty with me. So to wrap this up, bad food that wasn’t warm and horrible service.

Pros: Why don’t more people know about this place? It’s amazing! Every Friday, the students run a buffet. For $ 9($ 13 because I tipped), I ate all I could eat of gourmet style foods. It doesn’t get much better than that. I went on Cajun: salad, red beans w/rice, dirty rice, creamed corn, snapper, chicken, seafood etouffe, gumbo, bread pudding, and cake. The dirty rice was my favorite dish(well balanced and the texture was spot on). Cons: The cake. First off, I couldn’t identify the type of cake by flavor(bad sign). It was dry and the frosting was off somehow. The only good thing about the cake was the way it looked.

I came expecting imperfection and I was not disappointed. Was that«prosciutto» really ham? Was that soup or watermelon juice? Was that ribeye really stew meat? Were those«students» serving us older than my 57 years? Did the waiter really try to make us take dessert home so he wouldn’t have to take it off the bill he’d already prepared? You be the judge.

I took a group of 7 here for dinner on a Thursday night. The food and wine was excellent. The price is very reasonable. Remember, this is a teaching kitchen. So, some things might not be perfect. For example, it was clear our server had never served a bottle of port before and wasn’t quite sure how to use the candle and the decanter mechanism. That said, so long as you have a little patience, this is a great place to see the beginnings of some great new chefs. I am giving it five stars for being one of the best kitchens of this type that I have had the opportunity to visit. Thank you!
