This is pretty much the place to go for brewing supplies. It’s the only place to get most things you’ll need. The guys are very knowledgeable, and are my first stop each holiday season, as I prepare to make Ginger Beer. Quick Tip– Champagne Yeast is not called Champagne yeast anymore– but it’s still in the same little yellow packets, so don’t be afraid. Good job guys– cheers!

I just recently started home brewing and this place is a great find! The staff is incredibly friendly. I haven’t been in the store more than 10 seconds before someone was at my side directing me to what I needed. Often if it isn’t too busy they will offer you a sample of their homemade wine or beer! They are knowledgeable and helpful with questions and brewing solutions. I have never felt pressured to buy anything, in fact quite the opposite. The staff are all home brewers themselves and will offer what they believe to be the best solution, rather than the most expensive. While this may not earn them more on each purchase, it does build rapport with their customers. I know I have forgone ordering things on the internet when I have the option to go buy from them. Almost everything in the store is priced equally or lower than online(I don’t know of any other store in town to compare to). My only complaint would that I have found some of their wine and beer kits to be lower priced online. This I am sure is due to quality. I will be buying some of these more expensive kits when I have more experience. All equipment and other supplies are well priced however, especially for the service you get. There is plenty of parking in the strip-mall area where High Gravity is located. Though it is far from my house, I am always excited to make the trip because I know it will be enjoyable and fruitful.

Very good wine kit selections, products from ~$ 609 quick 4 weeks kits) to ~$ 250(for 8 week kit made to age awhile) for some of the better ones. Fresh beer ingredients with kits you can buy or you can bring an recipe which they can fill for you. The owners do know a lot about making both beer and wine and they are willing to answer any question. They rarely do not have the answer for you. They must be good people to work for as well since their employees seem to be very helpful and seem to enjoy working there and want to help you. You can’t be steered wrong there.

If you have ever considered brewing your own beer or wine(or both like me), High Gravity is the place. Dave and Desiree(the owners) are some nice and helpful folk and are almost always at the shop. They have a great selection of malts and go through it pretty fast, so they are fresh. One of the best things about the shop are the prices. They are almost always cheaper than anything else on the web. If you order from their web site, they offer brew bucks to help offset shipping. Go on Saturday around 11am for a free class on beer or wine making(it alternates weekends). I went to the wine class and it was informative, you get to drink homemade wine(which has really improved over the last decade) and each person gets a free bottle of wine just for being there. I recently just bought a kegging system and pimped out the guest bedroom with a kegerator… I haven’t slept in my master bedroom since ;)
