Migeli Foreign Car Service

We have always used Migeli’s for our Jetta service. We have been a loyal customer for years, but in the last few days they charged us $ 222.38 for an oil change and 3 filters. A couple of days later the MIL light came on and they said the thermostat was running too cool. So they charged me $ 217.41 for a thermostat. $ 147.00 of that was labor!

They are the most effective, professional, and honest VW mechanics in Tulsa. In our first interaction, diagnosed and fixed the shoddy work done by a prior mechanic (who won’t be named). In later encounters, they helped us find low cost solutions to our problems, even when this meant taking money out of their own pockets. As long as we have a VW and live in Oklahoma, we won’t go anywhere else for automotive service.

I have a VW Touareg that I have had them work on a couple of times. They do good work and in my opinion was better and cheaper than the VW dealer in Tulsa. My disappointment with them was that after I spent almost $ 7K with them to pull the engine out and replace both turbos it still didn’t run right. I took it back and they looked at it while I waited and couldn’t find anything wrong. So, I took it to another shop in Tulsa and they found that one of the valve stem ends had worn through one of the cam followers on the left side. I called Migeli’s and told them the situation and asked if they could help with discounting the labor since the engine had to come back out because they had overlooked this problem, meaning they didn’t fix it right the first time. They said that they could only guarantee the work that they did. So now I have to pay another shop approx. $ 2K just in labor to pull the engine out again to fix what they missed. I will have to buy a new camshaft, cam followers, at least one valve, probably all new ones too, which I have no problem with. They didn’t cause the problem, they just didn’t diagnose the problem right the first time and therefore didn’t fix it right the first time. I found a new shop that I like better.
