I went here for breakfast with a few friends and we loved it! Great coffee and they don’t charge extra for soy milk(score!) I had the smoked salmon crêpe with dill and cream cheese. Yum! The building is Art Deco style so it’s very pretty to look at while enjoying your meal… Oh! And the best part is the lovely people that work at Mods. They were so kind. Please go enjoy their goodies!

This is a great spot for a quick crêpe, coffee, or gelato! Service is always quick and pleasant. There is limited space for seating but the overflow into the building connected to it works well. During the semester I’ll stop in for black coffee before class which is always good. I love that they make all kinds of gelato flavors and keep it interesting. This is of my favorite places in downtown for sure!

When I’m home, especially in the winter, I always try to stop into Mods. This tiny, locally-owned joint has one specialty item, crepes, and they do them well. I’m no expert on crepes, but I do know I’ve never been disappointed by one of theirs, especially when savoring a desert cake at night. On a recent outing, I split a gingerbread crêpe that was made with cookie butter with my brother, and we it almost came down to a fight for the last bite. It was that good. If you enjoy local and unique, stop by for a lite bite and soak in the beauty of the art-deco atmosphere that surrounds you at the few tables they have.

I stopped in here for the first time yesterday while I was at Indie Emporium. It took quite sometime before an employee acknowledged us. There were several employees there and no customers, but the employees were just chatting among themselves. It was annoying. They also didn’t get our drink order right. My sister in law and I got two crepes to share. The spinach and artichoke crêpe was delicious. It had spinach leaves, artichokes hearts and some short of cream cheese mixture. We also had a banana pudding crêpe. It had banana pudding in it and was severed with a few vanilla wafers. It was good but not nearly as good as the spinach and artichoke. The employees lowered my rating for sure. The food was good and the location is neat. I will try it again and hope for better service.

After Sushi, we still had some time to kill before the party started so we wanted to get some dessert. I have seen great things about Mod’s and wanted to try it. I’ve never had Gelato before, so I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I was really surprised at how much like icecream it actually is. I think I had a more snowcone consistency idea in my head. The shop is just a little hole-in-the-wall place in the Philcade Building and you could easily walk right past it if you weren’t paying attention. I had the Mint Chocolate Gelato and my girlfriend tried the Blackberry Mango. Both were really great. I would definitely come back for more since there were so many different flavors to try. The staff were fast and friendly. There were also lots of options other than Gelato like coffee and even crepes.

Located in beautiful Art Deco lobby, coffee was very good but icecream even better. Coconut gelato divine. Pleasant young servers.

Luke warm crepes. Is it really that difficult to serve hot crepes?! yeah cold steak and cheese crepes. They also need to switch to paper cups and wooden spoons for their gelato. I’ve seen their plastic trash left all over downtown Tulsa. Atlas they are coming out with other ideas for their crepes since they never seemed to have much of a selection on their menu. And the owners are total psychopaths and the staff too.

Mod’s was a fun little venture in downtown Tulsa this past weekend. I was looking for a cup of coffee from a local coffee shop and we stumbled upon Mod’s. When I saw the crêpe menu, I had to indulge. We ordered an almond joy latte(per the baristas recommendation), chocolate covered strawberry crêpe, and a bottle of Diet Coke(for hubby). As they made the crêpe, I stood in awe, as I watched the magic happen before my eyes. All of this and a show?! For around $ 12?! My coffee was good. Nothing out of this world. But it was good. I enjoyed the crêpe the best and the cute little atmosphere. I would definitely come back and try a few other things on the menu.

What I liked best about this place was the seating inside the hallway of the old bank building. Very historical and pretty. I got a bag of coffee beans(to review later) and a smoothie which was good. My ham and apple crêpe was okay, very well made but no strong bold flavors which I guess makes a good, delicate and light crêpe!

Simple place. I can’t do the crepes(allergy)so this is just for the salad and staff. Staff was knowledgeable about local events & their foods. Turkey & bacon salad was satisfying.

I can only speak for the gelato but dang! That stuff is heavenly. I recommend heading over on a Tuesday evening when a small gelato is only $ 2. Trust me though, with flavors like pistachio, coconut and avocado, you’ll be tempted to order the large.

This time around, I got the Stracciatella & it’s most likely their best flavor. I wouldn’t even have to go again & will still be convinced it is. Make a visit & see for yourself.

Ate here for lunch today — first time in a LONG time that I had had a crêpe. Food prepared right in front of you with friendly staff — tasted great and filled me up for the afternoon. I had the Steak and Potato crêpe — $ 8 plus tax. Good combination. Will go again.

Came here for gelato on a Sunday afternoon. I was surprised at how many people were there considering downtown Tulsa is usually dead on weekends. I got a small Stracciatella($ 3), which was good. If you’re indecisive, they’ll let you try different flavors. What I really like about this place, though, is how it’s in the Philcade Building. You can sit in the(narrow) Mod’s restaurant or sit in the«lobby» of the Philcade and look at all the pretty art deco architecture Tulsa is known for.

My review is tainted with the fact that I had just returned from Paris and had a serious hankering for a crêpe. Mod was steps away from my hotel so I decided to hit it up. It’s located in a cute Art Deco area in Tulsa with some adorable shops around the corner. My latte was well frothed, but my crêpe was a little raw. I like them a little more on the golden side and there was just too much chocolate smothering the crêpe. Tasted like Hershey’s syrup, actually. The girls were friendly and offered samples of Gelato to customers, so that was nice. Who doesn’t love a free taste test? Go for the Gelato and a coffee, forget the crepes.

Mod’s is a coffee shop in the Philcade Building in the Deco District of downtown Tulsa. It caught my eye through Unilocal reviews primarily because of its location and because they make crepes, which seem to be generally hard to find in most restaurants. I already knew what I wanted, the strawberry with chocolate and cream. Sounded yummy. So, I have mixed feelings about Mod’s. Maybe it started off on a wrong foot when I was cut off at the entrance by what may be one of the very few rude people in Tulsa … a young businesswoman who was oblivious that there were other people in front of her. Whatever, she has to live with herself. The hostess had kind of a blah personality but not rude, however when the guy asked if I wanted a real cup or a to-go cup and I said it didn’t matter he held both of them up with a «make a decision, stupid» look on his face. Sigh, not off to the best start. We chose to sit at the tables in the lobby of the Philcade(see picture). What coffee shop anywhere has such a magnificent setting to dine in? Don’t answer that, the Atlas Grill down the street is no slouch either when it comes to lobby seating areas. My crêpe was good, not in 5-stars good, but not bad. Being the month of May I would have expected it to be loaded with fresh strawberries. I’m not sure if what I got were frozen strawberries or ones that had been soaked in sugar but I wish they had been fresh. It was lightly drizzled with a Hershey’s syrup ice-cream topping, much too lightly drizzled, and had a dollop of ReddiWip to top it off. Not something to get ecstatic about. I would go back, but I can’t rate it much more than 3 stars with an extra star for the ambience of the Philcade Building.

Oh Mod’s. happy little place in the Philcade building. These guys opened up a few years ago and what an addition to the Deco district. Yummy Crepes(sweet and savory as well as breakfast) Coffee and yes, GELATO! The gelato is made in house and is always fresh. They are always experimenting to keep the flavors rolling with the seasons and what the people would want. They also carry stand by favorites. The restaurant itself is a bit small but there is extra seating out in the building. My daughters favorite part is that she gets to watch them make the crepes. oh and she gets to sample the gelato. I always get the Salmon crêpe and I enjoy the birthday cake gelato. The wild berry sorbetto is nice as well. They offer several vegan options and there is $ 2 small gelato on Weds.

Mod’s makes me and my sugar cravings quite happy. Recently, when the sweet-tooth struck, I made a trip over at around 9:00PM and had the S’mores crêpe and cookie dough gelato. It sounds as good as it is! Pro-Tip: Order a crêpe and small gelato and half it with someone. I’ve never been able to finish this order on my own and certainly have not felt the greatest when I get close. The staff is exceptionally kind and helpful. When we asked for samples of gelato it never seemed burdensome for them like some places I have been to in the past. It’s quite the contrary here as they are excited for you to try their gelato they love so much. A crêpe will run around $ 5 and the gelato starts at almost $ 3 for a small. Wednesday evenings offer $ 2 small gelatos! Another Pro-Tip: Don’t think you can just get one flavor in a small, double up on a couple of your favorites. There is comfortable space to enjoy the treats inside and out. I can’t wait to go back for a savory crêpe –this menu looks extensive and I see they have gluten-free options!
