I liked the atmosphere and the food was good but… It took an hour to get my food. In fact someone got their food before me in half the time. Don’t go there hungry!

I haven’t eaten the food, so don’t judge it by this review. However, the coffee was extremely underwhelming. They have a vast selection of flavorings, but the coffee itself wasn’t great and the flavoring/milk ratio was off. Unfortunately we came at a time when they were understaffed and it took around 10 to 15 minutes to make 3 coffees. Perhaps we just came on an off day, but save your $ 5 and go somewhere else for coffee.

This little café is located inside Gardner’s Used Books, open Mon-Sat, 7 am — 8 pm. I was there for lunch and ordered a tuna salad sandwich on rye with a side of pasta salad($ 6) and a cup of coffee($ 1.50). The coffee is from Java Dave’s, a local roaster and distributor. They have a Marzocco espresso machine. Free wifi is available. I was there for a meeting, my first visit, and for the price I was expecting an anemic little sandwich with more bread than tuna. Instead, the sandwich was thickly filled with tuna, fresh tomato, and lettuce(not iceberg). The side was substantial as well. The pasta salad was garnished with thin slices of parmesan and had lots of cherry tomatoes mixed in. I could only manage to eat the salad and half of the sandwich and took the rest to go. The atmosphere was pleasant — a quiet, comfortable little coffee house. It could be a good place to get some work done. The barista was very attentive. She brought our food to the table, checked in to see if we needed anything, and cleared the utensils and plates when we were done. I will be back.
