Ordered: –Gyoza(2⁄5) –Avacado Roll(3⁄5) –Miso Soup(3⁄5) Gyoza was made from a freezer:(, and did not have much flavor. Avacado was old in my roll… umm k. Miso soup was pretty good but not the like your typical miso soup. I was just looking for a quick place to stop for food and I kinda wish I went somewhere else. No wonder no one was in the restaurant. The music they played was good at least. OVERALL: 2STARS

AHHHHH i love this sushi place!!! Make sure you order the 918 crunch roll! It also comes in the box as well! It is a small place so sometimes its better to just get it togo. The service is so nice. I can eat 918 crunch roll all day if i could! So amazing.

First off, this place has great service! Our waiter gave my partner and me a nice list of vegetarian options. We had two delicious sushi rolls, spicy asparagus and avocado. Both were super yummy and I can’t wait to go back again soon!

Mediocre sushi, won’t come back, not worth the price really. I have had much better sushi. The staff is semi-friendly.

Friendly service and great atmosphere. Sushi is top notch. I’d come back definitely. Fresh tuna. They are able to modify a roll on request.

Despite the reviews I went ahead to try it. The sushi was probably the worse I’ve had. I asked for something veg and the amount of veggies they put was as if the price of the veggies was sky high. Really bad service– make sure if you ask for anything additional you make sure they don’t charge extra because we had extra charges on ours that we weren’t told about. NEVERGOINGBACK

So… I’ve been to The Sushi Place once before and was less than impressed with the service and the food. I was really craving some sushi and some seaweed salad and since The Sushi Place is just right across from my workplace, I decided to give it a second chance. I ordered the wakame(seaweed) salad($ 5), takoyaki($ 5), and the 918 crunch roll($ 9). The service was mediocre and exactly how it was the first time i was there. I just wished the employees were… warmer? They just don’t seem happy which is never a good thing. As far as the food goes, I was thoroughly disappointed. The wakame salad was 75% mixed salad greens, 5% deep fried tempura batter bits, and 20% seaweed salad. It was also very bland and seemed like it was just barely mixed with two drops of sesame oil. I’ve never had seaweed salad this way before and it was just really disappointing when the part of the salad you want the most can be eaten in 3 small bites. The wakame salad I had inside the mall was better with a larger portion. The takoyaki was probably the best dish I had from my order today and would probably be the only thing I would reorder. The 918 crunch roll is an incredibly popular roll but it was pretty much just a california roll that was rolled in tempura batter bits. I think there was shrimp tempura in it but it was so small you wouldn’t know. If you’re downtown and you’re craving sushi, I’d skip The Sushi Place. The Sushi Place has a lot of room for improvement.

The best sushi this side of Tulsa! Try the Inferno Roll its amazing, and a lot more filling than traditional rolls.

Service is terrible and rolls mediocre. Maybe if service had been better rolls may not have been as bad

Service and food both vastly improved. Could hardly tell this was the same establishment that I visited before. Everyone deserves forgiveness, right? Now highly recommended as a downtown lunch spot.

Do yourself a favor, don’t even glance at the menu & get the 918 Crunch Roll. I got the 918 box, which comes with miso soup &2 gyozas, which are potstickers. The gyozas were good! The miso soup was good as well. The 918 Crunch Roll was shrimp tempura, crabstick & avocado topped with tempura flakes, spicy mayo & sweet sauce. It was perfect. I couldn’t get enough. I liked the flakes & the sweetness, not spicy at all so adding Sriracha to the mix doesn’t hurt. It comes with 8 pieces so you definitely get enough. Also, their lunch boxes are the best deals. If you get the roll alone, it’s like $ 1 cheaper, so you get more food basically for that much more money, which is well worth it.

Sashimi is not imitation crab sticks or paper thin. All I can say is horrible! This place is so unorganized and terrible.

Met my cousin here for lunch today. Got seated at 11:15. Was the only person in the place. Hmmm. Is this a bad sign? It was nice inside, clean and organized. She showed up 5 mins later and we got our drink order placed. Slowly others began to arrive. The place isn’t very big inside and maybe has seating for 50 or so. Within about 15 mins the place was packed. No more room available, not even at the sushi bar. We ordered our lunch and it was out in a fair amount of time. I had a soft shell crab appetizer to start and it was plenty good! When our lunch arrived I noted that the portion sizes of the nigiri matched up with the prices on the menu. If you are a light sushi eater then this place is perfect for you. My cousin ordered a couple of rolls and one of them was out of this world. It had cream cheese in it, and she asked me to try it. It was amazingly good. My nigiri was all fresh and of the best quality. I had hamachi, maguro and unagi. All of it was fantastic. For a sushi lunch it was pretty darn awesome. I will for sure come back here when I have a craving for sushi in the downtown area. It beats all others within miles of it.

I frequent the Sushi Place since I work downtown. love the service — extremely attentive and friendly workers. the vibe is great. it’s a quaint little restaurant(that never feels cramped) and has a laid back vibe. I think it would be a great date place — somewhat intimate. it somewhat reminds me of the Central Perk from Friends. call me crazy, I don’t know. the sushi experience isn’t the best — I’m still sold on Yokozuna for sushi downtown. maybe don’t come here for an authentic experience — but then again, it’s Tulsa, Oklahoma. it doesn’t taste as fresh as I would like and I have ordered edamame a couple of times now and have gotten what seems to be old edamame — discolored in spots and not so tasty. BUT the atmosphere and service can’t be beat so I will keep coming.

My daughter said get the veggie bowl with green tea noodles. I hate green tea. This was possibly one of the best meals I have had In a long time. You will simply not believe this dish. Unreal taste. It comes with some veggies tempura style. I did not have any sushi. This veggie bowl was simply spectacular.

Came in due to all the good reviews. I was immediately disappointed when I saw the menu. Many of the rolls are consist of shrimp and imitation crab(crabsticks, they call it) Tried their TSP roll and spicy tuna. Prices were about normal for sushi, so I also expected decent Rolls. They were loosely rolled, with barely any fish. Nothing more frustrating than picking up your sushi and it crumbles to pieces. Didn’t care for the tuna roll, as I couldn’t taste anything. The TSP roll would’ve been even better if it was rolled better.

Best Sushi in Tulsa and great prices! Tuesday night has one of their specialty rolls for only $ 3! It’s called the 918 roll

Have been a few times for lunch. They have pretty affordable prices for lunch especially compared to some of the fancier sushi places near by. I would recommend the 918 lunch box which is about $ 10 on their lunch menu. The restaurant décor isn’t anything exciting but it’s quick service and good food for lunch downtown. There’s no convenient street parking though so if you don’t want to pay to park you should wait till dinner time.

I came here with a friend on a Tuesday night to try their oh-so famous«918 roll»($ 3 on Tuesdays!!). We got there ½ hour after it opened. Before we knew it, half the restaurant was full(which really surprised me). I got the 918 Roll(of course), the TSP roll, and another roll I can’t remember the same of… All of them were good and flavorful, but the ones with sauce were a bit too saucy for my taste. The bill was a lot, in my opinion — over $ 30 for 3 rolls(even with a roll that was $ 3!!), which just tells you how much their rolls regularly cost. Also, if you eat a lot of wasabi/pickled ginger, be prepared to ask for a LOT of refills. They literally give you a pea-sized portion of wasabi and maybe 4 – 5 pieces of pickled ginger. My friend and I stared at the dish(and thought«You are f-ing kidding me.») and immediately asked for more. I must make a special note about their music. While eating, I heard Westlife(someone still listens to Westlife besides me!?!) and *N Sync = +1 star for The Sushi Place

I had previously written a pretty positive review about takeout from The Sushi Place but after an in-house visit, I feel like I have a better grasp on the spot. When my husband and I came by after a workout, we were looking forward to some healthy edamame, sushi and the veggie soba noodle soup that we enjoyed last time we ordered from here. The edamame was extremely over cooked. As I pressed down gently on the shell to pop the soy beans into my mouth, the skin came with it. This was hopefully an over boiled batch and a mistake that isn’t often made. When we ordered the veggie soba noodle soup that they mentioned was vegetarian when we last ordered it, our waitress informed us that it actually had fish or shrimp in the broth. I was turned off that the staff hadn’t checked last time when we specified we needed our order to be vegetarian(and we specified the broth). If you do eat seafood, as most sushi diners do, definitely order this though as it’s really yummy. I don’t want to fault them too much as I realize it’s probably a nuisance to have vegetarians dining at a sushi spot(though most other spots don’t make us feel that way). We ended up just getting the 2 veggie rolls on the menu and figured this was probably a better post workout option anyway. Unfortunately, we waited well over 30 minutes for 2 veggie rolls. Eventually we asked our waitress to cancel our order if it wasn’t yet prepared. Turns out, it was, and had just been sitting on the counter(we saw her grab it immediately). Also, while last time I raved about the tightly wrapped sushi, it didn’t really hold together this time. I’ll go back again for takeout but might just stay away from the edamame.
