Topeca is one of the best known coffee shops in the greater Tulsa area, both for their cafes and for the beans they roast and distribute. My first visit to the Topeca in the Hyatt confirmed the impression I had of them from their beans at the grocery store and their Mayo Hotel location: Topeca may not be the best in town(according to my taste preferences), but they are a dependably high-quality option with a relaxing atmosphere. The service was friendly and informative at the Hyatt location, and the view was superb: floor-to-ceiling east-facing windows overlooking the green square in front of the BOK Tower. I enjoyed my fresh chocolate cookie, and my coffee was good and hot. My primary – well, only – complaint with Topeca proceeds along those lines: while they are conscientious in their coffee sourcing, and their beans are better than a Starbucks or some such, the flavors generally seem weak and the notes too understated for me. Then again, I like my coffee bold and strong enough to hit on my wife, so maybe its just a taste preferences thing. There are other local roasters that make better beans, in my opinion, but that doesn’t stop me from enjoying an afternoon at a Topeca coffee shop if I’m in the neighborhood.

We stayed in the Hyatt two nights. Both mornings we hit this place. Slow but good. Every cup had a happy design on top. Beautiful!

I love this coffee and stop by at least once a day when in town. I order cappuccinos and they are delicious with the right balance of milk to coffee and always a beautiful design even when to go. It’s not fair to rate, but their food(from Heirloom Bakery) is good — order the quiche when they have it. And in my opinion the scones taste like muffins and their muffins taste like scones but whatever fits your fancy.

The coffee at Topeca is quality, but has a much stronger taste than other coffee places I’ve had. For example, the Iced coffee has a strong bittersweet taste to it I didn’t expect and don’t enjoy but others may like that. The cinnamon rolls with icing are a bit too sweet as well and I’m a sucker for sugar. The scones and cookies are great as well as the sausage and cheese rolls. Overall a good place but definitely a more distinct flavor here than the rest of Tulsa’s coffee shops.

My afternoon pick me up! Working in the building next door makes this the perfect morning coffee or afternoon coffee spot. Staff is super friendly. Cookies are yummy(from heirloom bakery, I think). The designs on the top of the coffee always makes my day. They make a mean cinnamon latte(not on the menu). Y’all should check this out.

I go here just about every day. .if that doesn’t make you interested in trying this place out, I don’t know what will. –yummy local tulsan coffee. check. –exceptionally friendly staff. check. –tasty peanut butter chocolate chip cookies. check. –comfy yet clean cut vibe. check. while this location only has baked goods + coffee, their location at the Mayo hotel has soups, sandwiches, and salads as well.

This little coffeehouse is hooked onto the Hyatt Hotel downtown. It’s a small little shop with just a bit of indoor seating and much more outdoor. We got a latte and a Macchiato which were very good. Topeka coffee is seed to cup, which is a great concept in their barista is willing to tell you all about it.

For someone who doesn’t drink coffee, I frequent a lot of coffee shops. This one in downtown Tulsa is a great little find. I’ve been here three or four times now and every time I find a helpful person at the counter who makes my drink perfectly. The price is about par for an establishment of this sort. The place is always immaculately clean and I’ve never had a bad experience. I can’t make any claims as to the coffee but the teas are good as are the products in the food case.

I don’t think I could make it thru most days without this place! The coffee is awesome and the staff is even better. Highly recommend! Is located inside the Hyatt Regency Hotel downtown so you can either go thru the hotel or from the street. Only downfall is they close a lil to early on saturdays(noon I think?) It’s very understandable why they do — but sometimes I just want an afternoon mocha! :)
