We were in a pinch with our A/C going down last night late. I called Wortman Central Air conditioning co. At 8:00 am the next morning and was greeted with a very friendly lady. She then gave me hope that we were not going to suffer in our hot house for very long. At a very high heat index we expected that it would take a couple of days to get anyone out. To our surprise they had completed the job and our house was cooling down by 3:00pm. Wortmans service man Will was extremely courteous and that makes me happy that I trusted them for the second time. My first experience was a complete system replacement and the whole crew went over and above my expectations so don’t hesitate to trust these guys.

Very unhappy with their service and attempt to sell us a new furnace when our current one just needed a little cleaning. The full experience: We had a Wortman service tech come out to do a $ 75 winter furnace check. He quickly concluded that there was an extreme flame roll and said there was no fix. He said it was dangerous and we shouldn’t turn the heat on until we replace the unit asap for a new one(estimate on receipt was $ 2800). We’re big believers in second opinions about large purchases, so we had Robison come out to evaluate the situation. Their tech had a good look at it and determined that there wasn’t much wrong at all — just a couple of dirty parts that didn’t allow the flame to move correctly, hence exhibiting the flame roll the Wortman tech noticed. He cleaned those parts and now not only is our furnace is working just fine, but we’ve still got $ 2800 in our pockets. He also told us that although the Wortman tech said in his notes that he adjusted the gas pressure, it was clear that hadn’t happened or was done incorrectly. Go with Robison. They charge a little more, but our experience is that they are either much more knowledgeable and/or honest. Update: To their credit, Wortman is refunding the $ 75 we paid them.
