The prices are higher then most other chains. There are some good sale prices, but overall, it’s more. Often, there is only one cashier and she’s rude. The rest of the staff are nice.

This review is specifically for Sarah and her staff in the bakery department. I was recommended this particular bakery by my sister, who is not the biggest cake eater, for my wedding cake. Thats right… Albertson’s wedding cake. Holy mother of God. AMAZING!!! We ordered samples, and she had 12 full cupcakes with different fillings and flavors waiting to be picked up for free. We took them home and mulled them over(read: DEVOURED). The frosting she used was not the crusty old store bought kind of spackle that you usually find– it was real butter cream!!! The cake itself was moist and flavorful– real red velvet(drool), and the chocolate with raspberry filling was to die for. We ended up ordering 188 cupcakes with different flavors and fillings, and a 6 inch cutting cake for my husband and I. I also went on Etsy and bought my own wrappers to match my décor, and by doing that, Sarah gave me a discount on the cakes. All said and done, with DELIVERY to Gig Harbor, 319 $ for all of that, and those cakes FLEW off the stand. Everyone raved about them, and almost spat when I told them they came out of the grocery store. Sarah, you’re fabulous!!!

Albertsons as a chain has been through a lot lately. The majority of the west coast locations were formerly owned by SuperValu, but the former owners bought the stores back last year. I ran into this store to see how the prices were on one of the few types/brands of food the behemoth of a cat that dominates the house finds tolerable. Upon finding the aisle with the above cat food items I look at the shelves for pricing info and find what is priced at under 80 cents a can at most places is a buck… on sale. The variety of dry food we buy is a dollar more a small bag. Was the store a pleasure to shop in? No, it was fairly clean but the aisles were often blocked with sales displays. Is it worth your time to shop here? No, the prices were high and the merchandise was similar to what you would get across the road at Fred Meyer. Do you get a better product so you offset the higher prices? No, you will pay a lot more for what you can get for less across the street. Over the top prices and a less than stellar shopping experience make this Albertson’s a must pass by location. Save your time and money and shop elsewhere.
