The Bistro is a cool little spot in Tunk. The lobster bisque, ma Byrnes, and Tunkhannock turkey are all favorites. I don’t recommend the icing with the pretzel(when the icing is heated it separates strangely). The Dip for the chips is amazing. The service is friendly but because it seems they all share tips and sections don’t seem to be defined sometimes it gets a little confusing or you feel like the server forgets to come check up on you. Also I wish the hours went later like they used to, not working in town I wish I could catch them for dinner. Overall cute place, great seating, delicious food and coffee, and nice location.

This is my favorite place in Tunkhannock, PA to get lunch and breakfast. They always have a good special in addition to their great sandwich menu. They usually have three or so soups available, all of which seem to be made fresh every day. There is also a good selection of different salads although I have never tried any of those. The place is sort of trendy but very comfortable. I have on several occasions, and purchased breakfast sandwiches for some of my customers. They do an outstanding job making the sandwiches. I also noticed that they now serve a quiche and soup special.

I ordered the turkey club. It came out in four slices. The sandwich was ALMOST larger than my mouth which is a good thing for clubs to be. The service was a bit slow but the value for the money and the quality of the food was excellent. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because of the service.

I worked in the area for 3 – 4 years and every time I tried this place I left disappointed. My latest visit to this restaurant changed my opinion of them. Ordered the egg salad wrap and my husband ordered the pastrami sandwich. Both were very good. I guess they’re stepping up their game! Keep up the good work!

Enjoyed their mushroom and brie soup very much. I come to pick up dinner fairly frequently when I’m in town. Their sandwiches and soups are fresh and filling. I thought their chicken Cesar salad could’ve used more lettuce, but most people would disagree and appreciate the abundance of chicken. Service is just OK. Sometimes they forget a spoon in the to go order, every once in a while they need to ask a co-worker to answer questions about the menu. And the back entry way is quite a mess. But I’m glad they are open regularly with generous hours. It’s a great addition to the town.

Fabulous and friendly spot for coffee or lunch/dinner. I have yet to find something on their menu that wasn’t delicious.

The Bistro is a great little spot in Tunkhannock, PA to catch up with friends over breakfast, lunch or dinner, nestle in a comfy chair with a flavorful drink, read a book, or just relax. The food is simple, yet delicious. Each day the café features different soups and scrumptious desserts. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It truly is a great spot. I recommend ½ of The Bridge Street sandwich with whatever soup they have that day, because you can’t go wrong!

Last month we visited our favorite bistro and saw a sad transformation. In addition to an entirely new staff(who chats full-time in a corner by the microwave), the quality-control has plummeted. There were gnats and flies everywhere(maybe because the door is always propped entirely open). And, during that visit, I had to walk to the counter after our soup/sandwiches were delivered to remind the staff that we ordered beverages. And, the second I took a bite of my sandwich? Long blond hair. That was enough to put a moratorium on Tioga Bistro for a month. Since we missed the soups(usually so amazing), we decided to give it one last shot tonight. We asked for the soup du jour. We were told that it was sold out(if that is the case, erase it from the specials board). My companion asked for the club sandwich … but we were told that they have been out of turkey for days now. We both selected other sandwiches and waited … surrounded by gnats and flies(yet again). A young man came in with a tremendous amount of chewing tobacco in his mouth. This only caught our attention because he left the building countless times to stand in front of the window where we were eating to expel huge amounts of spit. My stomach turned. When this young man(who the girls called Seth) returned the last time, he was offered a cup he could spit in.(NOJOKEEE!!!) Because that’s what everyone wants to see while they eat dinner. Luckily he refused … and unluckily he kept leaving to spit in front of the window. When dinner arrived, I was done. Beyond done. I had to wave my hands in front of my sandwich constantly to keep the flies and gnats from landing. And, when we told the server, she said that the tables by the windows were the worst for flies and gnats. Without taking a single bite, we paid our bill and left. Tioga Bistro, here are some tips: A.) tell all Seth-types that tobacco products are not permitted on the premises(and DEFINITELY do not offer him a spit-cup in a restaurant … AREYOUKIDDING?!), B.) close the door and get some fly strips, C.) tell staff that they must wear a pony-tail or a hair-net, D.) take inventory frequently and replenish out-of-stock items in a timely manner. Over the last three years, we have been weekly visitors … now, never, ever again. The owner needs to supervise this place with much more care … if she wonders why it is now almost entirely devoid of patrons, here are just a few reasons.

Adorable café in a cute town. The spiced chai is delicious! The cheesy cauliflower soup was very tasty. I love ordering mozzarella sandwiches and this is one of the better ones I’ve had.

I am a business traveler and this is the place to go if you want something quick. The food is really good and they have a large selection of lighter options. The service is pretty great too; always friendly and helpful. The atmosphere here is also really cool. I have only gotten take out here, and it is definitely the best take out around!

We stopped here for lunch and it was a great place to eat. The service was fast and friendly and the food was delicious. The ranch dip that you get with the chips was definitely a highlight. I would love to go back again.

Friendly service and great food. Very causal setting with café style seating. I recommend when in the area to swing by and grabbing some of the food.

Tioga Bistro is a solid place for lunch/coffee. When compared to the other offerings in Tunkhannock, this place excels in quick, friendly service. The desserts are nice and I love the Bonnie Pastrami. Coffee could use some work.

Took a chance here, glad we did. Really cool, tasteful décor, very clean, very friendly service. Had broccoli cheddar soup– very good, Bus 22 sandwich(ham, apple butter, american cheese on wheat berry toast) — excellent. My girl had a Brooklynite– turkey, coleslaw and something else on wheat toast– excellent. I also got a salted caramel brownie with pretzel crust, to go. Delicious! Oh, also had a strawberry italian soda to drink– nice finish! Fair prices, nice menu and atmosphere. We’ll be back!

Place looks great, menu is ok, some sandwiches, reubens, paninis, etc. BUT we had the worst service ever. Partied out waiter/host in CARGOS, forgot my soup, messed up ¾ of our orders, got turkey reubens, but gave us beef and were cold, messed up half of the ingredients in my pal’s salad(which was on the menu) took forever to get our check, then he tells us «sorry, dude she(who?!) lost your slip, I’m real tired» now the food wasnt horrible, although my tomato basil soup was clearly condensed with a dash of basil. This is one of those places that COULD be good if their staff got their shit together, especially cook/waiter
