The hotel wasn’t bad. It was fairly clean and the room was fairly nice. The problem is with the price. For $ 80 a night, I’d expect better than a Motel 6 room. The breakfast was standard — bagels, muffins, and cereal. Everything was standard. At $ 50 a night, I’d say, yeah, great— four stars. But for $ 80? Nah. Find something cheaper elsewhere. No rodents found as another review stated. I looked for them as I was pretty skeptical that a mouse could knock over a trash can. They must have exterminated that Goliath of a rodent before our stay =)

This place is pretty nice for $ 54.71(including tax). I found a coupon on the net and got $ 30 slashed off the price. It’s perfectly clean, everything works, there are no rodents or bugs or droppings and Mark the dude at the check in was awesome — friendly, funny, helpful. The furniture is not spanking new but everything works fine: wifi, tv, microwave. The décor is even reasonably tasteful. The ultimate test is whether I’m willing to walk about with bare feet — here — yes!

I worked in the hospitality industry for a few years and have also traveled around the southern United States from Pacific to Atlantic. To be honest, this hotel needs some help. We were visiting Tupelo, Mississippi for a family funeral and needed accommodations for two nights. Our first night, we had no real problems. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The property is showing signs of its age, but the recent remodel has helped a little bit. On the second night, we discovered mouse droppings on the night-stands and on the microwave/refrigerator in the room. We did not have any food in the room to attract rodents. However, when we looked for a mouse, we could not find one. At 2:00 in morning, the mouse made himself known by rummaging around the room, climbing into our bags, knocking over the trash can, etc… As we were planning to wake up in a few hours and head home, I chose to notify the front desk upon our checkout. When we checked out, the front desk clerk simply responded with, «We’ve never had that happen before. We’ll have the exterminator look at it the next time he is out here.». There was no offer to discount or comp the room for the night and offer a discount or something to encourage me to stay at a Jameson Inn in the future again. I was referred to contact their nationwide customer service department. They offered me a single free night at any Jameson Inn. I informed them that I don’t typically travel to the southeast US and that this was not really a «usable» offer. I was basically told that my options were to take the free night or get nothing. I took the certificate, not that I will be using it. As for the breakfast, it was OK. It’s Otis-Spunkmeyer muffins(Bannana Nut or Blueberry), biscuits with sausage gravy, English muffins, toast, cereal, instant oatmeal/grits, and coffee. If you would like to stay at a Jameson Inn before October 2010, please contact me through Unilocal and I can mail a one-night pass to you. Not sure if you would be able to use it, but you could try. I know I won’t be using it.

What a pit! Don’t let the outside(new paint job) fool you. The inside has been ridden hard and put away wet. The sign said clean rooms and friendly faces. The staff was friendly, the room was dirty and the furniture looked like it had been around since the early 70’s, with the scars to prove it. Even my bar of soap was dirty! There were stains on the walls(who knows of what), worn carpet and the bathroom door frame had settled so the door didn’t close. Stay away.
