Sadly, after our experience last nite. If negative zero were available to leave this update… That’s what it would be. So, we already knew from our last Friday nite experience that wait time could be 45 min +. If you know that, you can make a decision if that’s what you’re prepared to do. And, breeze in air. THERAPIST. Back in house… Why not have a beer & wait & visit with my girls. As I said in my first review… We go every week on different days & food has been on point for a «brewery w/food. I decided to break out and try something new on menu. I ordered the quesadilla. It comes with shredded pork. I haven’t eaten pork or red meat for 26 years now. The server, seemed as if this was no problem to just make it cheese. I asked him(little blonde guy) if they had fresh veggies to throw in. Jalapeños?: no(not fresh) peppers? no. Olives? No. When I looked at menu, there was something else with peppers & onions in it. He said: oh ya. We could do that. What?!? Oh, ok. You forgot – I guess? Movin on… about 25 minutes later, my daughters received their fish tacos as always ordered. My quesadilla… No Bueno! Oh my gosh! I’m ready to devour my food after waiting at this point well over an hour! It had shredded pork in it! I immediately saw it. Not sure how he didn’t, as he brought to table. Good lord, it’s only suppose to be a cheese quesadilla with onion & bell pepper. That’s it! Ok, so he takes it away… Never even apologizes. Waiting, waiting, waiting. No one came to offer me any bread, chips… or anything. Well, my daughters both finished their dinner completely before mine even came back. :(I know things like this happen, but… When it does… All you have to do is pretend like you care, offer another beer on the house for inconvenience or take the $ 9 quesadilla off the bill and apologize for the snafu! Something, anything. Keep your loyal customers! NOTHING. Bill comes… It reads pork quesadilla !! What? You’re charging me for that? Now I’m upset. I told the server that at this point, I shouldn’t even be charged. I had to eat alone! He was clearly annoyed at me. Said he would talk to manager to see what he could do. A young girl in her 20’s appeared. She said that we were considered „pain in the butt customers“ I thought we were being punked. Seriously. I had to ask her to repeat what she said. She repeated» you are pain in the butt customers and we don’t want you back!” What!!! Last time we were there.(3 nites earlier), after being seated, we were asked to move tables so they could fit a huge party of 10 or 12 in! We said no problem, even though we loved our table and already warmed up our seats and had our drinks on table. Even your customers thanked us for doing that like 3 times!!! Anyway, Who says that? Who tells a customer you are a pain in the butt??? A business who has grown by leaps & bounds &DOESNOT care because they don’t need your patronage! Wow!

My friend from Merced and I occasionally use this as our in-between meet up place. She loves their tomato soup and I usually choose something different each time, liking all I have ordered. I like sampling various beers so I get to choose the 5 I think I want that night – fun way to go without worrying about the drive home.

First time here today, and it was good. Got seated right away in the outside patio. Good thing they have some type of mesh covering around so the bugs don’t come through, also TV’s and fans. I really enjoyed being able to sample 5 beers(5oz) for $ 7 dollars. I ordered the 50⁄50 burger(half angus beef/half bacon) and it was okay. Nothing very special, but the garlic fries were some of the best fries I’ve ever had. Customer service was very good except towards the end they weren’t really checking up on us when we needed refills and as well as when the tab came there was extra stuff we were charged for. I was also confused as to why some people were getting bigger mason jars filled with waters and some were getting smaller ones. Most likely will come back to try other things on the menu.

This place is almost all it’s cracked up to be! In terms of beer/selection of brews-5stars! Food is very much«bar food» which fits with their vibe so, way to stay true to yourselves – 5stars! Where I have the issue is the service and organization when people come in. It’s a little bizarre. So if you walk in there is a little stand with a computer, sometimes there is someone there, other times that same someone is clearing a table and running past you with dirty plates in their hand saying, «I’ll be right there!» When someone does come over to you, usually they’ll give you a blanket number for a wait time. In the past 4x I’ve been here they always just say 45min. As a former hostess, I know that nothing drives guests crazy more than hearing someone just say a number without caring how many people are even in the party. That’s fine, so say you do decide to wait 45+ minutes for your bar nachos. They then ask you to sit in this little nook outside while you wait. Here, you can order beer– but not food, cause then why would you wait«45min». But when you do order your beer it’s a disaster finding out how to pay for it. There is a server out there, but then some order from the bar(which you can tell irks the server 100%). But hey? I give them 4 stars because they’re the cool, hip, somewhat tasty place downtown. I mean, not gonna lie, nachos are nachos– anyone can throw chicken on top of potato chips with some barbecue sauce and call it a night. But their vibe is great, beer is good, so 4stars it is!

Great place recommended by the staff at my nearby hotel. Had the Caprese sandwich which was delicious and just had to try the Garlic fries, which certainly were garlicky! Would definitely go back… staff very friendly.

Great restaurant in Turlock! We had the PB&J burger which was absolutely amazing, the beer dip which was okay, and the mac-n-cheesy sticks which were delicious. I wasn’t a huge fan of the beer, but I definitely loved the food and the service. I will for sure be back when I am visiting the Central Valley.

We decided to come here for lunch because of the great Unilocal reviews. The food smelled amazing and our hopes were set pretty high. We tried the calamari appetizer, and it was okay. Very small pieces with not a lot of flavor. Lunch came and it was mediocre. Fish and chips were a little soggy. Also ordered a Caprese sandwich and it wasn’t bad, but not good either. The service was okay. The waiter walked by a couple of times, but never stopped and asked how things were or offered to fill our drinks. Overall a mediocre experience. Wouldn’t go back unless we were with a group of people that wanted to go.

Come here for a good time, stay here for a long time!!!

I came in at almost 10pm on a Friday and found this was easily the most happening place in town… and for good reason! Great brews, good food, fast service. Who knew you could score all 3 in Turlock? I tried all 10 house brews, highlights are the supremely strawberry Supertramp. the surprisingly delicate ESB, and the dry, smokey Stout. Managed to fit in a french dip in between all the brews, which was honestly one of the best I have had in years. Well done, Dustbowl!

My favorite brewery in California that I have been to. The food is very very good too. I love coming here and getting a flight and a bite to eat. The appetizers are amazing and so are there burgers and sandwhiches. I recommend the dust bowl to anyone who likes good beer and food.

A brewery with a good selection of beers and food. The mac and cheese sticks are simply amazing I would go there simply for them and the rotating beers. The beer sampler I had was a good price for 55oz beers, had around 20 beers to choose from. From stouts, ipas, ales etc. The burger was decent it’s my reason for the 4 stars it was a little over cooked for what I had ordered and not as juicy as I was expecting. The size was good though and the Garlic fries where tasty. The place itself is clean in downtown turlock, was smaller than I expected for two the wait was about 20 mins on a Sunday afternoon. You can walk around as they have text to tell you your table is ready.

Great beer selection and great food. What more do you need. It has a very modern, casual environment that is a breath of fresh air in downtown Turlock. I had the fish tacos and I can highly recommend them.

Two stars for the ok garlic fries and good pb&j burger. Minus three stars for the slow service and the many tiny flying bugs that hang out on the windows, constantly flying around in the restaurant and landing on all six of our plates of food. Gross!

Great service, diverse selection of beers and awesome food! This is the place to hang out in the valley and they do everything well in a hip industrial setting! From ipas to wheat beers to stouts to British styles they have a great variety, and the iced tea is refreshing and huger than a super sized McD cup. I am a fan of the make your own sampler, which allows you to choose any 5 beers.

Driving down the freeway and hit up Unilocal for somewhere to have a snack and a beer and just stretch out legs. What a great find. Service was great, beer and cider were excellent and the food was good. My sweetie even bought a hat, wears it everyday now.

Can I have your attention please?! I just have to tell you all, the Dust Bowl Brewing Company is AMAZING!!! If you’re from LA and on your way to SF– STOPHERE! If you live in SF-GOHERE! You won’t regret it, and here’s why: One word — CHORIZOSLIDERS!!! The world’s #1 guilty-pleasure! Quite possibly the BEST thing I’ve ever had! If you’re a burger lover like I am, this should definitely go on your bucket list! I’m not kidding! GO try it!!! Aside from those heavenly sliders, my burger was great! I opted for a regular burger since their signature burger seemed too heavy for me at the moment. My mom tried the Chicken Sandwich and I forget what my husband had, but what I am completely sure of is that we were all equally impressed with this place! Oh, and the service, EXCELLENTE!!! Yes, I said it in spanish. It was THAT good! I just looked for my receipt so that I could give major kuddos to Krisdina(hope that’s spelled correctly) because she was absolutely wonderful! I missed her friendliness while I was in SF with all those rude servers/hosts I encountered! Thank you, Krisdina! For being the ONLY wonderful server on my trip! Absolutely NO complaints here! This place is all that and a bag of chips, the real deal, bomb-diggity, etc. etc.

NOTE: Honest pints served here, in 19-oz Imperial Pint glassware. Props! Despite the valley heat, Turlock has a charming downtown area and Dust Bowl Brewing is a welcome, and well designed, addition to the local grid. It’s been on our short list since we first tasted their signature Hops of Wrath IPA at a beer festival a few years back. We finally got the chance to squeeze a pit stop in between a wedding and reception, and checked out the award-winning tap room and grill that opened in 2011 on a prominent corner in downtown Turlock. We liked it. Samples were cheerfully offered, and we tasted a few, with me going for the no-nonsense Hops of Wrath. At 50IBU and 6.5% ABV, the orange-caramel brew is mildly carbonated. At $ 5 for an «honest» 16+ oz, it’s a great deal as well. Bring your growler for a refill starting at $ 11. Even better, $ 2 off fills on Wednesdays. Check ahead for HH. The roundup: Food: NR — We just had beers. Service: 4 — Ours was attentive and cheerful. Setting: 4 — You could drop this onto any street corner, anywhere. Value: 4 — Better beer prices than many warehouse/picnic table setups we’ve seen. Date worthy: 4 — Great people watching on the wrap-around patio!
