Delicious food Amazing customer service great atmosphere! Family oriented! Highly recommended

Get ready for a long but valid review:
My family has been here a couple of times mainly because the restaurant looks nice and we like to get drinks here but each time is a disappointment and leaves us wondering why we give them the benefit of the doubt by returning.
Last nights experience:
We waited 30 minutes for a table and ordered drinks to wait. My «Mexican Mule» tasted like water. No hint of ginger beer and I’m almost POSITIVE the bartender was too distracted to remember to put tequila in there.
Finally we were seated and ordered our meals almost immediately.
My uncle ordered sliced cucumbers to use for the salsas and flavorless table side guac. 15 minutes go by and no cucumbers. Or waiter is also missing. I call over another waiter and ask him and he says he’ll bring them out no problem. Another 10 minutes and no cucumbers and both waiters are missing. Finally our waiter is in sight and we have to waive him down to ask about the cucumbers. His response, «Oh yeah. I’ll check on those.» comes back roughly 8 minutes later with no cucumbers but two drinks from the bar which we forgot as ordered as its already been about 30 minutes. He comes back with cucumbers.
We wait a bit longer and ask about our food and the waiter tells us a party of 15 was holding the kitchen up. So our party of 5 is clearly unimportant. Now our table is cluttered with straw wrappers, empty chips, salsa, and guac dishes and I have to actually ask the waiter to clear our table before our meals come since he doesn’t know how to do his job. He took half the stuff and we are still left with looking at the dirty empty salsa dishes when our food arrives. Again as he’s about to leave us with that I have to ask him to take the empty chips and dishes.
MY ORIGINAL ORDER:
4 Tacos– Nopales with sautéed mushrooms (my fav), pescado, al pastor, and chorizo y papas
WHAT I RECIEVED:
4 Tacos–
Nopales had NO TRACE of mushrooms which were the reason I ordered that one
My pescado taco was replaced with a disgusting and DRY carne asada taco
The other two were what I ordered and tasted OK. The one star is for the al pastor I GUESS.
After everyone is already finished eating our waiter makes an appearance. I call him over and ask «Does the Noples taco not come with sautéed mushrooms?»
His answer: No I don’t think so. Now I’m extremely annoyed. I tell him to grab a menu so we can double check. LOW AND BEHOLD, it does. I also tell him my pescado taco was wrong and they gave me carne asada.
He offers to bring me the two new tacos but at this point we are already signing the check and who knows how long they would take.
Had he come by before instead of disappearing until the end of our meal, maybe I could’ve had what I ordered.
HORRIBLE SERVICE
BLAND, FLAVORLESS FOOD EVERY SINGLE TIME
YOUR KITCHEN STAFF SUCKS
This is such a disappointment because the atmosphere is there but the food always disappoints and this experience was the last straw.

Visited this place on Valentine’s. We were a party of 3. The workers were very nice. Everyone looked clean and presentable. The place was very neat. The young lady that was our server was very kind. We ordered drinks and got them within minutes along with our appetizers. Our main courses were great. Overall, everything turned out very well. Highly recommend this place. Keep it up Memo!

I would leave 0 stars if I could…
My boyfriend and I were in town for the big Swap Meet and car show. We decided to hit this place up after. The Turlock swap meets are a huge deal so they should have anticipated lots of traffic.
However, when we walked in for an early dinner (3−4pm) there were only TWO tables occupied… even so, the hostess said we’d have to wait because they were short-staffed…so we went to the «lounge» area to wait.
In the meantime, two parties of white guests were seated as soon as they walked in (I’m black and my boyfriend is Mexican). So… we left and walked across the street to Dustbowl! GREAT food and drinks and GREAT service. Please don’t visit this racist establishment…

I’d say this place is better suited for happy hour than dinner. Our experience at the bar was good, but after that it was disappointing.
The bartender we had was friendly and knowledgeable and offered great suggestions.
But our poor waiter was so busy he tried taking our outer twice because he’d forgotten we’d already ordered! I found the salsa and black bean dip to be a little bland, but that could just be me. I ordered the shrimp diabla (spicy shrimp) it was okay, but a small serving. My best friend ordered shrimp fajitas and her food came out without tortillas, the wait to get them was almost 5 minutes, and she only had 4 shrimp in her dish! The burrito her husband has was very big, I wish I’d ordered one so I didn’t leave hungry! But he said it was kind of bland.

Wow! We ended up there after leaving the Dustbowl with its 45 minute wait. We’d never heard of Memo’s, so walking in was a crap shoot. We lucked out! A gorgeous, clean restaurant with fast and friendly service. We immediately got chips and salsa and had our orders taken quickly. The mole is delicious, as is the the tamale. Flan for dessert was very good.
All in all a very pleasant surprise and a place where we plan to return. Fabulous!

We walked in to have a drink and possibly appetizers. We had a party of five and wanted to sit in the bar. As we approached the hostess stand we got a blank stare from the hostess and what looked like the manager. No welcome to Memos. My husband told her we had five, I looked toward the bar at a high 6 top and suggested that table since it was about 3 feet from the bar. The hostess very rudely replied «that’s not part of the bar». We then suggested we would wait for a low table since the high top wasn’t part of the bar area. We sat for over five minutes, in the waiting area for her return. We felt very uncomfortable and decided to leave at this point. As we were walking out, the hostess again was unresponsive. Don’t waste your time, very rude staff!

Ok so today we checked out this place and it was great. I got the chicken Chipotle wrap and my husband got the carnitas plate. Everything was delicious. The wrap was pretty filling and veggies inside were fresh. The chicken inside was juicy and the Chipotle sauce gives it a yummy taste. The fries, I loved too. My hubbys carnitas were perfect, nice and crispy on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside, with great flavor. Rice and beans very tasty too. They bring out dips and chips very good too. The chips were a little on the hard side for me but they are still good flavor. Their bathrooms are nice, very clean. Our server Samantha was awesome, thank you for your great service. Oh! And the drink we had a drink that had mango and jicama and I would definitely go back for more of that drink lol! I really recomend this place, very good and not outrageously priced. Will be going back soon. Tip to the owner just get better to go plates. They are functional but a little on the flimsy side.

This place is a gem in a city that doesn’t have a lot going for it. I came here for brunch on a Sunday with friends, we were greeted and seated immediately. The décor is super chic and features a wall that is made to look like casks. I recently moved here from San Francisco and have yet to have brunch here that compares, but this place gives you city style brunch, bottomless mimosas and a killer Bloody Mezcal. Ricardo our server was awesome, super friendly and welcoming. He kept our drinks full and was very present but not intrusive. Their dinner menu looks promising, but in an area where Mexican food is available on every corner, I would love to see them add more (Peruvian, or perhaps Cuban food)

First time to try this place the service was outstanding the food portions just perfect and the food was the best Mexican food in Turlock. My husband and I have tried just about every Mexican eatery in Turlock and this is on top.

This place is so good! I got their chiliquiles with scrambled eggs. The refried black beans are delicious as well. Huge portions for really reasonable prices.

Stopped in for lunch after seeing as we drove by. Firstt impressions were nice atmosphere, a little artsy for Mexican food (IMO), but good spacing between tables and bar looks pretty cool. Host was quick to seat us and had a nice smile. Waitress was quick in getting us drinks and bringing us chips. Chips and salsa were delicious. Interesting tidbit, they only serve black beans or black refried beans. I ordered the chicken street style tacos without cheese. Our waitress asked if I was lactose intolerant (I am) and took the initiative to exclude the creamy guacamole from my plate as it included dairy. I was very impressed with this. The chicken tacos were scrumptious… I have had many, many street tacos and these are definitely in my top 3. The carne asada street tacos my son had were super yummy as well.
The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is my husband ordered a burrito with green sauce and no mushrooms, and at first, got a burrito with red sauce (which the waitress was quick to take back and fix), then the second burrito with green sauce had a handful of mushrooms in it.

We went here for my dad’s bday dinner and it was a horrible experience! A few of my family members and I got the same item (mocajete) and requested it be made spicy. When the food came everyone thought their items were well made. I on the other hand, thought my food was bland and disgusting. So after going back and forth a bit, I tried my sister’s dish, which was exactly supposed to be like mine. There was a world of difference between the two.
I called the waiter over and asked why there was such a difference. He confessed that he forgot to make mine spicy as we requested. He said he can remake it, but it would take 30 MINUTES! I would’ve been okay with this, had they been more flexible. I realize mistakes do happen. They said they would have to take the old dish back if I wanted to have them remake it or they can take it off the bill. This made me very upset, since they are the ones that screwed up by their own admission, but I would have to pay the penalty for their mistake. Both the solutions would require that I either have to 1.)take the item off the bill and go hungry. Or 2.) have them remake it and wait an additional 30 minutes for me to get my food. Which means that I’d have to watch everyone eat there food and then have them wait for me to eat mine after it finally comes. Not to mention our party had 3 small kids and it was way past there bed time.
The restaurant screwed up and expects the customer to pay for their mistake. Furthermore, the manager was not even apologetic at all. He was rude and a complete @sshole.

My husband and me wanted to try this restaurant. I had heard great things about the margaritas. The inside décor is beautiful. It has a classy feeling! The bar is impressive. The seating is open. On a busy night I can imagine it being quite loud. The waitress was pleasant and made sure to refill our water often. The chips and salsa were house made and my favorite part. The only small issue would be making sure the wait staff checks about refilling the salsa for you. The dishes that hold the salsa etc are small.
The food was delivered. A burrito with green sauce. The outside was swirled with green sauce and sour cream. The tortilla tasted to be freshly made. The inside was a tad disappointing. The burrito was packed full of beef, onions and bell pepper and little rice, that part was great! It was the flavor. It did not taste seasoned at all and was bland. The green sauce was ok. We will give it a go again, however.

This is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant to dine at! The ONLY reason I had to give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because their chile verde does not taste house made. Which is quite a disappointment considering how everything else on the menu taste. It’s very tart and not flavorful at all! I stay away from it. I love everything else I’ve tried. You can’t go wrong with their fish tacos and their Mahi
Dish on top of rice and spinach is SO good! They make guacamole at your table which is a plus. Staff is friendly, fast service, the atmosphere feels SO modern clean and very upscale like. I eat here very frequently and intend on going back on regular basis!

Absolutely Godly Margarita’s, a waiter had initially gave us all the wrong drinks, and another the wrong drinks, which resulted in both tables actually enjoying the wrong drinks better, which every drink was free + we all had ordered another round.
The food blew me away on how amazing it was. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it. This has a beautiful atmosphere and the restaurant has amazing presentation, location, inside and food presentation was great. If you’re looking up Unilocal reviews to decide where to go this is the place without a doubt!

Mango– Jicama Ensalada was superb. Super friendly staff, knowledgeable on tequila brands. I will definitely be returning.
Also, I drank the Watermelon Agua Fresca. It was good! Though, I’m no mixed drink expert.

Love it! Food has been great consistently, don’t ven mind driving an hour for this. I recommend the mahi mahi with creamy garlic. The bread pudding squares are em maculate, so save room! ;)
Oh also $ 2.50 dos xx amber drafts, what more can you ask for?!

Even though the food here was pretty good the service here was awful. We wait over 45 minutes for our food and we couldn’t find our waiter. I do realized it was busy and it was a Saturday night but the waiter never came by to apologize or give us an update on our food. We were all hungry and just snacking on chips and salsa and we had to flag someone down for a refill on it since it took so long for our food to come.
I ordered a chicken mole which was actually really good. The rice and beans that came with it was pretty good too. The chicken was tender and the mole sauce was delicious.
I might come back here and try it again and hope for better service but no promises since I will likely just go across the street to have nachos if I am ever in Turlock.

Our server was super informative and helpful. The menu pricing is well worth the meal. The pollo con espinacas (mushroom stuffed chicken with buttered spinach) plate was so good I could only finish half due to the excellent «made in front of you» guacamole. Chips are the puffy ones so delicious! B
Not a large beer selection, although it IS a Tequila Bar. I had the Latina super yummy, could taste all the flavors!
Highly recommend! Will definitely be back. Came from modesto to try and loved it.
