Overpriced and do not do what I asked and still charged, my daughter who already has blonde hair went in and wanted the silver gray hair that is so popular right now, she even had a picture, the stylist claimed yes she could do it and had done it several time, after charging my daughter 140.00, my daughter comes back home in tears because her hair looks the same IT BLONDE STILL and she spent her whole paycheck on the service, the next day I take her to our local salon where we live who goes out of the way to fit in her in since she has to be back in Tuscaloosa Sunday, and fixes it, she now has the exact hair she wanted and only cost me 70.00, called and spoke to the manager and she said there is nothing she can do wouldn’t even offer a refund! I would not waste my time at this salon go elsewhere, they seem to not care about making the customer happy.

Avoid this place at all cost. I just left Salon Serenity after having sat in the chair for TWO HOURS. Mind you, I only needed a simple haircut. It took the stylist, Lydia, over an hour to cut my hair. She was indecisive, and it was obvious that she had no idea what she was doing. I was only getting about three inches off with minimal layering and fixing up my bangs. It is absolutely unacceptable that it took this long. I didn’t even get it styled or anything, just got up and left as soon as she finally decided to put the scissors down. She was a disaster, and the owner was rude as can be when I mentioned an online coupon I had seen. I will never, ever go to this place again.

Salon Serenity is hands down the best salon I’ve been to since I’ve moved to Tuscaloosa. The staff here is warm and friendly, a refreshing change from the snobbish attitudes I’ve encountered at other salons in town. I came to Nancy with some jacked up hair (I’ve been growing out a pixie) and she performed miracles. I left feeling completely happy with my cut and my boyfriend said it’s the best he’s ever seen. Not to mention, it was done in record time. She had a great personality which, to me, is a solid plus in a stylist. I also love that it is a Paul Mitchell salon, some of my favorite products. My only regret is that I don’t have to go back to see them for another six weeks!

I went to the salon with a half off coupon. I told both the receptionist and my hairstylist tj I had one. He did a consultation and came up with the services costing $ 160 for a color. I said that was fine BECAUSE I HAD A HALF OFF COUPON. When my color was done it had hints off orange in it. He brought me up to the desk told me the total was 102.00. I said that wasn’t right it should be $ 80 because of my half off coupon. He then tells me it’s half off one service and though coloring is ONE service they apparently did mini services in between that and those didn’t count towards my half off. Are you kidding me? He then has the nerve to say if I would’ve brought up I HAD A coupon he would have explained it to me. I then called the owner and talked to her. She straight up said to me it’s my word against his and she didn’t believe me. How professional! Especially when you are relying on customers to keep your salon open. The customer is always right! Learn to do business! Do not come to this salon. It’s rinkidink and way overpriced. Other salons in Tuscaloosa are more professional and better priced!

I saw Emily Summerville after a friend recommended her and I am very glad I did. After moving and leaving a salon that I loved, I was very nervous about going to someone new. The girls at this salon are very sweet and they all have great hair (and I’m sorry but if your hair is a mess, you aren’t cutting mine!). Emily completely understood that I wanted highlights to compliment my dark brown hair, not to make me look like a tiger. Being a brunette herself, she suggested a couple of different options that she thought would work for me. And when the highlights we did turned out to be a little bit golden after a week or so, she fixed them for me and was REALLY sweet about it. I will definitely be seeing her again andI would recommended her as well. But call early, she books up really quick.

This salon is GREAT! The best I’ve found in the 3 years I’ve been in Tuscaloosa! The salon is clean, stylish, and relaxing, the people are very friendly and knowledgable about their products and services, and my cut looked fantastic! AND– if this weren’t enough to make me love them– I walk in and there’s a full display of Paul Mitchell products FOR PETS!!! So not only did I get pampered, but I got lots of stuff to take home and pamper my kitties with. Love this place!!!

I love my experiences at Salon Serenity. The salon is neat and clean, the stylists are all very nice and the prices are reasonable. I have been raving about them to everyone I know and will continue to do so. My whole family now goes! My husband and little boy love the special treatment they receive. I think my husband wishes he could have a hot towel treatment every day!
