Not only the best cupcakes in town, quite possibly in the entire state of Alabama. I have sampled my fair share of cupcakes and these are the best. by far. They are never dry and the frosting is so good. If they have the candy bar cupcake for the weekly treat, get it… you will not be disappointed!

I’m not a cupcake guy.(How many guys are?). But this place is the best I’ve eaten anywhere, even NYC. Sweets does it right. Their super creative with their cupcake concepts, not just flashy and all-icing-no-cake like the place across town. This isn’t a chain. This is a local business, and they care about Tuscaloosa, care enough to feed us sweets. They use real ingredients in their cupcakes. I’ve been in there and seen them grating lemon zest in icing. I chose the strawberry cake with lemon icing and I nearly peed myself. That good. Like them on Facebook. They do a nice job of keeping the Tuscaloosa world up to date on what they’re making fresh that day and what cool, new specials they have going.

Thank you Sweets. Just devoured your Crimson Pride. Moist cake, correct amount of frosting at perfect sweetness. I will be a loyal customer as long as I am in T town.

My new go-to cupcake place. It’s a cute little cupcake shop to stop into. The cupcake is moist and they put the frosting on when you order, so it’s fresh(way way better than Gigi’s where it’s just sitting there all day and hardened). They’re flavors are unique too, but there’s something for everyone. I love the chocolate and peanut butter cupcake!

Best cupcake in town by far! The German Chocolate is my favorite, but all that I’ve had have been good. Nice moist cake, not too much icing, friendly staff. Perfect.

Fantastic bakery! Everything is baked fresh in-house and every week there is a new limited time flavor to try, as well as a seasonally rotating menu. One of the many things that set them apart from some other cupcake houses in Tuscaloosa is that their confections aren’t made at some central factory, frozen, shipped and thawed(You know who I’m talking about). Plus, if there was a weekly flavor you loved, you can request it again by ordering a dozen! My favorites so far are the Candy Bar Creation, Peanut Butter Cup and the limited Amaretto Sapphire. *drool* Plus, they offer more than just cupcakes. If you want something special for your wedding, shower or birthday party, they can accommodate you. Absolutely one of the BEST sweet shops around.

I came here with some coworkers after lunch and got the red velvet cake. I’ve heard good reviews from others– and clearly on here the reviews are good– but my experience was just so-so. My cake was pretty dry, which made it underwhelming. Most people like that Sweets doesn’t use as much frosting as GiGi’s, which definitely uses a heavy hand during their frosting application process. I’m a big fan of frosting though, so it doesn’t bother me to have a giant glob on my cake :) I would go back and give them another try, but I’ve had better– and no, I’m not referring to GiGi’s. I think you have to venture out of Tuscaloosa to find a real cupcake shop. update: I came back today and got a regular chocolate cupcake. I was still underwhelmed. The chocolate frosting tasted weird to me. I don’t know how to explain it, might’ve been the type of chocolate they use, but I wasn’t too fond of it. I’d rather make my own cupcakes than buy them in Tuscaloosa.

New cupcakes shop in town. The cupcakes seem about the same in terms of quality as Gigi’s. They don’t use nearly as much frosting but the cake is bigger(in diameter) and more moist. Overall, not bad.
